TAMILNADU GRAMA BANK

Tamilnadu Grama Bank (TGB), sponsored by Indian Bank was formed on April 1, 2019 by amalgamation of erstwhile Pallavan Grama Bank and Pandyan Grama Bank. The emblem of TGB has a gear wheel spearheading the industrial activities in grey colour, which has a tricolour - green, brown and blue inner ring holding a green map of the State of Tamilandu holding a bunch of paddy. Gear wheel denotes interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure, which the bank strives for. Green is the colour of life, agriculture and village and the crown of paddy denotes agriculture, harvest and food safety. The ring of blue, green and brown denotes the integrated development of agriculture, fisheries and industry in the State. A bunch of ripened paddy is considered an auspicious symbol of growth, prosperity and wealth. Overall, the logo is a symbol of the bank and all its stakeholders.

PALLAVA DYNASTY - BULL The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I(600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE), dominating for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. Kancheepuram served as the capital of the Pallava kingdom.  They developed the Pallava script, from which, Grantha ultimately took form. This script eventually gave rise to several other Southeast Asian scripts such Khmer. The Chinese traveller Xuanzang visited Kanchipuram during Pallava rule and extolled their benign rule. ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY Aligarh Muslim University grew out of the work of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Raja Jai Kishan helped Sir Syed in establishing the university. The British decision to replace the use of Persian in 1842 for government employment and as the language of Courts of Law caused deep anxiety among Muslims of the sub-continent. His purpose for the establishment of the Scientific Society in 1864, in Aligarh. Sir Syed's son, Syed Mahmood, who was an alumnus of Cambridge prepared a proposal for an independent university to the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College Fund Committee upon his return from England in 1872. Syed Mahmood continued to work along with his father in founding the college. By 1920 the college was transformed into the Aligarh Muslim University.
