COER UNIVERSITY

COER University is located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand was formerly known as University of Engineering and Technology Roorkee. Itwas ounded by Seth Roshan Lal Jain Trust in 1998 as the first private engineering college in Roorkee. On February 15, 2021, the Government of Uttarakhand State approved COER University as State Private University. The red, blue and green circular emblem of the university gear wheel waves of water, a dish antenna and a computer ensconced in a border with red outlines with its name and its motto in Sanskrit ‘चारित्तं खलु धम्मो’ meaning ‘Charity is the Religion’. The motifs represent the branches of engineering and science being taught in the university.

PATNA PIRATES Patna Pirates is the Patna city franchise and the most successful team in the league with only team to win the title thrice in a row in season 3, 4 and 5 of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi. Pirates have proved themselves as real champions by giving three consecutive wins back to back. Owned by KVS Energy and Sports Limited, Patna Pirates believes that the spirit of the pirate is the spirit of not letting go, of using the environment to advantage, of striking when the enemy is least aware. It is named not after the criminal meaning of the word but after the Greek word 'peirin' which means ‘to attack’. The Pirates anthem which is penned by the great Prasoon Joshi, put to music by the much loved Late Aadesh Shrivastava and rendered by none other than Kailash Kher. COTTON UNIVERSITY Cotton University (CU) was formerly known as Cotton College, the institute was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam. It became a constituent college of Gauhati University in 1948. In 2011 the Cotton College State University was established vide an Act of the Government of Assam, with the college as a constituent. Cotton University came into being in 2017 through The Cotton University Act, 2017 that enabled the unification of Cotton College State University and Cotton College. The official emblem of the university dates back to 1933. It was designed by Mohendra Nath Deka Phukan, an alumni of the university. This emblem is a shield which is a symbol of protection of Assam. PALLAVA DYNASTY - BULL The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I(600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE), dominating for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. Kancheepuram served as the capital of the Pallava kingdom.  They developed the Pallava script, from which, Grantha ultimately took form. This script eventually gave rise to several other Southeast Asian scripts such Khmer. The Chinese traveller Xuanzang visited Kanchipuram during Pallava rule and extolled their benign rule.
