GURUKUL KANGRI VIDYAPEETH

Gurukul Kangri Vidyapeeth (KGV) (Deemed to be University), was founded on March 4, 1902 by Swami Shraddhanandaji with the sole aim to revive the ancient Indian Gurukula System of education, on the bank of Ganges in Hardwar. The circular emblem of the university has a central motif of a rising sun from mountains, green vallies with a flowing river and abodes. It is surrounded by a pink border with red outlines. The border has the motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘ब्रह्मचर्येण तपसा देवा मृत्युमपघ्नत’ (Atharvaveda 11.5.19) meaning ‘By Celibacy and Austerity One can Conquer Death’ and its year of establishment in Devanagari. It is further ensconced by three border lines and a running design border. The emblem is crested by its name and place of the university in Devanagari. The rising sun symbolises light, universal prosperity and path for growth and the overall scenery creates a sense of calmness and serenity.
