VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) was established by the Government of Karnataka on April 1, 1998 with its headquarters at Belagavi, as per the provisions of the Visvesvaraya Technological University Act, 1994. The green and orange circular emblem of the university has the motifs of the map of the State of Karnataka, a portrait of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, a computer, a pulley, a pair of gears and a structure placed on a green circle. It is ensconced by an orange circular border which carries its name in Kannada and English. A tricolour wavy banner is placed at the bottom of the emblem. A traditional lamp is placed atop the logo supported by its motto in Kannada ‘ಮೊದಲ ಮಾನವನಾಗು’ meaning ‘Become a Human First’ is placed below the traditional lamp.
