JUNAGADH AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY The predominantly green emblem of Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU) is a monogram created using its acronym ‘JAU’ with a motif of peanut in the counter. At the bottom its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषिमूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the Whole World’. The peanut represents the major agricultural produce of the region and the colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

KISSAN During the British era, trains passing through Punjab made a stop at a processing unit where farmers sold freshly picked fruits. Locals called this spot Kissan and from there on it became a household name. The UB group, under the Late Vittal Mallya then, acquired Kissan from Mitchell Bros. in the year 1950. In 1993, Kissan was acquired by Brooke Bond India and is now an integral part of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). INDIAN OILSEEDS AND EXPORT PROMOTION COUNCIL Indian Oilseed and Produce Export Promotion Council (IOPEPC) is concerned with the promotion of various oilseeds and oils. Formerly known as IOPEA, it was formed on June 23, 1956, at a preliminary meeting held in Bombay under the presidentship of late Shri Lalji Mehrotra, former President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The formation of IOPEA was, in fact, the first organized effort to promote and protect the interests of India's export trade in commodities like oilseeds, vegetable oils and oilcakes in a collective and concerted manner through a representative body. With subsequent setting up of sectoral associations for different oilcakes and extraction cakes, IOPEPC concentrated it's attention and activities mainly on productivity and export of oilseeds and vegetable oils.
