GUJARAT BIOTECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY The emblem of Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU) in grey, bluish green and orange has a pictorial of helical DNA structure crested by its motto in Sanskrit. Alongside its name is written in serif capitals. The motto ‘विज्ञानं ब्रह्म’ (Verse 1, Chapter 5, Bhrigu Valli, Taittiriya Upanishad) meaning ‘Knowledge is Eternal’. The DNA structure denotes the the domain of knowledge of the university; the colour bluish green symbolises being cool, calmness and peace; the colour grey symbolises strength, longevity, unemotional, detached, balanced and impartial, power, influence, wisdom and intelligence and the colour orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.

TUMKUR UNIVERSITY Tumkur University was established in the year 2004, as a State University, to cater to the educational needs of Tumakuru district where the majority of students hail from the rural areas. The emblem of the university has a blue circular border and is supported by a brown coloured banner. The border carries the name of the university in Kannada and English, its year of establishment and a structure of an atom. Within the circle motifs of a hill, coconut trees in green colour, a folk drum, a traditional lamp and a hand holding a bunch of vegetables. The banner is inscribed with its motto in Kannada ‘ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಅನಂತ’ and in English ‘Knowledge is Eternal’. The hill, coconut trees, drum and the bunch of vegetables are representative of the district’s geography and the traditional lamp signifies light, path for growth and way forward.

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF KERALA The Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod, came into being in 2009 under the Central Universities Act 2009 (Parliament Act No. 25 of 2009). The university is founded on the noble vision of a ‘Caring Wisdom’ and is guided by the lofty ideals of academic and social commitment. The emblem of the university was designed by Kanayi Kunhiraman. Its circular dark blue logo has a unique shape and prominent shape evolved from its acronym looking like that of a petal of lotus with a cut out like a tilak on top and an inverse ‘U’ like cut out at the bottom. In the cut out at bottom a glowing sun is placed above its acronym. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘अमृतं तु विद्या’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Eternal’ placed below its that supported by a book. All these are ensconced in a blue circular border on which its name in Devanagari and English are written.
