RISHIKESH YOG VALLEY The mark of Rishikesh Yog Valley has a red motif of a person doing yoga supported by a pink lotus. Its name is written on the right in brown italics. The name is supported by a range of mountains and a flowing river in blue. Below the motif a Sanskrit sloka is written.

SINDHU CENTRAL UNIVERSITY The white circular emblem of  the Sindhu Central University (SCU) has black outlines. The inner circle houses the motifs of a pair of laurels holding an open book crested by its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या सर्वत्र प्रकाशते’ meaning ‘Knowledge Shines Everywhere’ and supported by the mountains of Himalayas with a river flowing down. The outer circle is inscribed with its name in Devanagari and English. The Himalayas and the river refer to the geography; the open book refers to the knowledge, education, learning and wisdom and the laurels denote ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

OSHO NISARGA FOUNDATION The emblem of Osho Nisarga Foundation (ONF) has a monogram of its initials written in black and red rough brush strokes, in which red ‘O’ and black ‘N’ are depicted as a human and the river flowing from the Himalayas respectively. In between these two its name is written in thin sans serif capitals. The red colour symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the black symbolises mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.

The shield with red outline houses a glowing sun in which an umbrella dome is placed. The bottom of the shield flowing water is depicted. DEV SANSKRITI VISHWAVIDYALAYA The emblem of the Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (DSVV) has a hand holding a torch supported by multitude of students and teachers placed over a globe of earth, which is ensconced by a sun with glowing rays. These are supported by the motif of Himalayan Mountain range, below which waters of the river flow from the mountains. KHANGCHENDZONGA STATE UNIVERSITY The insignia of Khangchendzonga State University (KSU) has a circle holding the motifs of Himalayas with flowing rivers; an open book and a traditional lamp. These are ensconced by a circular border with its name and place inscribed along with its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ (Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa) meaning ‘Knowledge  is One that Liberates’ is inscribed. This is further circumscribed by a traditional running design motif of the State. The mountains and the river represent the geography of the university; the open book denotes knowledge, education and wisdom and the traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

GURU GOBIND SINGH INDRAPRASTHA VISHWAVIDYALAYA The insignia of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha Vishwavidyalaya (GGSIV) has an yellow circle with black outlines holding the motifs of a computer, a factory, a stem of a plant with five leaves, an open book, a river and a pair of hands shaking with another hand touching them. Its Sanskrit motto ‘ज्योतिर्वृणीत तमसो विजानन्’ (3-39-7, Rigveda) meaning ‘The light of Wisdom Dispels Darkness’ is surmounting the seal. The computer denotes modern education and knowledge; the factory denotes manufacturing and employment; the stem with leaves denote environment and green life; the open book denotes knowledge, learning, education and wisdom; the flowing river symbolises changinging life and emotions; the hands shaking holding symbolises unity, strength and collectivism and the colour yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

COOCH BEHAR PANCHANAN BARMA UNIVERSITY The emblem of the Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University (CBPBU) has a blue circular panel holding the motifs of an open book supporting a conch or Shankh. Below this four cyan colour swooshes holds the name of the university in black. These four strokes represent the rivers of Teesta, Jaldhaka, Jorda, Kaljani, Raidak, Gadadhar and Ghargharia, which flow in Cooch Behar. The open book symbolises knowledge, education and wisdom; the conch or Shankh  which is a sacred object in Hinduism and Buddhism and it is a symbol of Vishnu, the God of Preservation and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

BARKATULLAH UNIVERSITY

BARKATULLAH UNIVERSITY Barkatullah University (BU) formerly known as Bhopal University which was established in 1970 in Bhopal. In 1988 it was renamed as Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, in memory of the freedom fighter Prof. Barkatullah. The logo of the university  has a shield with a pair of black outlines, holding the motifs of an open book surmounted by a rising sun and supported by flowing waters of river are placed inside an oval and circumscribed by its name in Devanagari and English. Its motto is written on the open book in Sanskrit ‘श्रद्धावाँल्लभते ज्ञानम्’ (39, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) ‘The Devoted and Faithful Gain Knowledge’. DR. B.R. AMBEDKAR UNIVERSITY

DR. B.R. AMBEDKAR UNIVERSITY The restructuring of the universities based on the recommendations of National Knowledge Commission a new university was formed by converting existing Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Postgraduate Center into Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam in 2008. The emblem of the university is circular in shape. The sixty four petals depict the various branches of knowledge. The index finger represents Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideology and his aspirations for an educated and progressive society. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

SRI DEV SUMAN UTTARAKHAND UNIVERSITY

SRI DEV SUMAN UTTARAKHAND UNIVERSITY Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University (SDSUU)is established as a State University of Uttarakhand vide State Government notification No 270/XXXVI(3)/2012/48(1)/2012 on October 19, 2012 in continuation to amendment of erstwhile Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Uttarakhand Vishwavidhyalaya Act 2011 (Uttarakhand Act No 22 of 2011) as notified by State Government vide No 357/XXXVI(3)/201 1/57(1)/2010 on November 4, 2011. The emblem of the university has the motifs of Himalayas, its valleys and ridges, a flowing river, green plains  and a light yellow coloured forest flower. UTTARAKHAND OPEN UNIVERSITY

UTTARAKHAND OPEN UNIVERSITY Uttarakhand Open University (also known as UOU Haldwani) was established in 2005 with the aim of disseminating knowledge and skills through distance learning. The logo of UOI consists of a stylized image of a snow capped mountain range with the sun rising behind it. A river flows from the mountains into green plains. Below these motifs an open supports an icon of a person with a mortarboard hat is placed. The name of the university is written in both Devanagari and English below the image on its blue circular border. The border also bears the motto in Sanskrit ‘श्रद्धावाँल्लभते ज्ञानं’a quote from the slokas of Srimad Bhagavad Gita meaning ‘One Who is Devoted Attains Knowledge’. UTTARAKHAND SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY Uttarakhand Sanskrit University (USU) is a State university located in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India. It was established in 2005 by the Uttarakhand government to promote the study of Sanskrit language and literature. Its emblem has motifs of white mountains, flowing blue rivers and a pine tree ensconced in a circle with yellow border bearing its name in Sanskrit and supported by a book and a traditional lamp on it. At the bottom on a red banner its motto in Sanskrit taken from Sri Bhagya Suktam ‘वयं देवानां सुमतौ सयाम’ meaning ‘Happy in the Deities’ Loving Kindness’ is inscribed. The book denotes knowledge and wisdom; traditional lamp denotes light, path for growth and way forward; rivers of Uttarakhand are symbolised here; tree is symbolising the pine trees of the State and mountains represents the Mountains of Himalayas of the State. It was established on January 27, 2005. The emblem of the university in the colours of green, blue and red hots the motifs of a mountain with flowing river, crested by a wheel depicted like a sun, transmission tower, its name in Devanagari, year of establishment and its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या सर्वोपरि धनम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge is above all wealth’. CHAITANYA GODAVARI GRAMEENA BANK

CHAITANYA GODAVARI GRAMEENA BANK Government of India announced the amalgamation of Chaitanya Grameena Bank and Godavari Grameena Bank sponsored by Union Bank of India into a single Regional Rural Bank with its Head Office at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on March 1, 2006. The circular emblem of the bank in green, orange and blue colours has a house holding a rising sun above flowing water, supported on either side by crowns of cereal. These are ensconced in a green circular border which carries its name in Telugu and English. Sun denotes light, universal prosperity and path for growth; water denotes the rivers of the land and its vitality in life; an orange house is the home of contentment and prosperity and the crowns of cereal represents the major produce and the field of agriculture the bank serves. HEMWATI NANDAN BAHUGUNA GARHWAL UNIVERSITY Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University was established as a State University through the U.P. State Government notification dated November 23, 1973. It has a rare distinction of taking birth through a powerful popular movement during the early seventies in the last century. The university was converted to a Central University on January 15, 2009. The green circular emblem of the university has the motifs of the geography of the State - Himalayan mountain range, rivers, a tree and shining sun within a circle. All theses are ensconced in a circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘जीवा ज्योतिर्शिमहि’ meaning  ‘Life Eternal’ and supported on either side by a pair of red lotuses - denoting knowledge and purity and at the bottom half of the border its name in Devanagari is written.
