MAHAPURUSHA SRIMANTA SANKARADEVA VISWAVIDYALAYA Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV) is managed by Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha (SSS) which was formally founded on June 10, 2014. The yellow, green and orange emblem of the university has the motifs of a person doing yoga, a laboratory flask, an open book and a gear wheel ensconced by its name and surmounted by an ornamental arch and supported by its motto in Sanskrit on a white banner. All these are placed inside a green circle. The Sanskrit motto ‘सत्यं परं धीमहि’ (1.1.1, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam) means ‘I Meditate upon the Absolute Truth’. The human motif means meditation towards knowledge; the flask means science; the open book means education, knowledge and wisdom; the gear wheel means interconnectedness, efficiency and precision, synchronisation and timing and the colour green means agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality and being very down to earth. NORTH-EASTERN HILL UNIVERSITY

NORTH-EASTERN HILL UNIVERSITY The North-Eastern Hill University Act (24 of 1973) passed by both Houses of Parliament received the assent of the President of India on May 26, 1973. The emblem of the university has a rising sun in a yellow circle, surrounded by a thick border in orange carrying its name, with a range of green mountains supporting. Below this an open book written ‘Rise up and Build’ is kept. This is supported by a yellow banner adding reverence. The sun, the mountain range and the colours yellow, orange and green represent the land of the rising sun.
