SRI GURU RAM DAS UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences (SGRDIHS), Sri Amritsar was established in 1997 for MBBS course which was recognized by MCI in the year 2003. The emblem of the university has a blue sprocket wheel with a inner border holding the name of the university and ‘Sri Amritsar’. Inside these it has Caduceus the staff of Hermes with wings entwined by a pair of snakes symbolising medical profession and supported by laurels and the year of formation of the university. Its motto ‘Dissection to Reconstruction - Producing Excellence’ is written on the top. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GOA The National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa) is a premier technical Institute of the region. NIT Goa was established in the year 2010 by an act of parliament and it is declared as ‘Institute of National Importance’. The emblem of this institute is dominantly blue and circular with a white border. The border carries its name in Hindi and English along with its motto in Sanskrit ‘या विद्या सा विमुक्तये‘ meaning ‘True Knowledge Liberates’. Inside the circle in cyan background a Florence Nightingale oil lamp with flame is placed surrounded by a sprocket wheel. The oil lamp represents the dedication and selfless work of nurses and in this case by the Institute. Nightingale’s dedication remained steadfast even after the war was over. She returned to London and put up the first nursing school where she trained several nurses to have the same dedication and compassion that she always had. Because of her, the once nursing professio
