MORMUGAO PORT AUTHORITY The emblem of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) has the motifs of an anchor, a lighthouse, a ship and a pair of arrows depicting repetition placed on an elliptical globe of the world. Below the ship, its acronym is written in bold red typeface and its name written in Devanagari below that. The motifs refer to port, shipping, loading and unloading and servicing the globe. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty; the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour cyan denotes sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation and emotional balance.

MUMBAI PORT AUTHORITY The blue colour circular emblem of Mumbai Port Authority (MPA) has four circles ensconced by a decorative circular border. The circle has a lighthouse, a sail ship, port with sea and boats and a sailboat representing the port and its activities. The circular border is inscribed with the name of the port in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment. The colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

PARADIP PORT AUTHORITY The brown colour emblem of Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has the motifs of a ship anchored in a port with a crane and jetty ensconced by a circular banner on which its name is written. The motifs are supported by the Dharma Chakra ensconced by a banner on which its name is written in Odiya. On a banner at the bottom its name is written in Devanagari. The colour brown denotes earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.

MILAN 2024 The circular seal for the Milan 2024, the multinational naval exercise organised by Indian Navy, has a globe with Ashoka Chakra placed above the map of India, a lighthouse with beacon, a warship with guns and wavy waters of the sea written with ‘Visakhapatnam, India’. These are ensconced by a circular tricolour border referring to India and a blue border, which carries the name of the event, its tagline ‘Camaraderie Cohesion Collaboration’ and a pair of anchors. The emblems circumscribed a rope similar to the one used in seafaring and ships. The globe denotes the reach and scope of the exercises; the naval ship refers to the navies of the participating countries; the blue waters refer to the seas and oceans; the beacon denotes the guiding light and the anchors refer to the navies.

UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI The insignia of University of Mumbai (UoM) is a shield housing the motifs of its iconic tower, a pair of gear wheels and a factory building, a ship to represent the city of Mumbai’s port and an open book with ‘1857’, the year of its establishment written. Below the shield, on a brown banner, its motto in Sanskrit ‘शीलवृत्त फला विद्या’ meaning ‘Virtue is the Fruit of Knowledge’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; The factory and gear wheels denote the industrialisation of its geography and the open book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.

BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY The insignia of Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (BATU) is a light brown colour shield with black outlines and details houses the motifs of Dr. Ambedkar, a factory and a ship on sea, surmounted by a circle holding a glowing traditional lamp crested by its motto in Sanskrit meaning 'Development Through Technology'. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the ship and factory denote industry and commerce and the lamp denotes light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity. 

BERHAMPUR UNIVERSITY

BERHAMPUR UNIVERSITY The Berhampur University (BU) was established on January 2, 1967. The university was later shifted to the present site known as Bhanja Bihar, named after the celebrated poet of Orissa Upendra Bhanja. The emblem of the university has a shield holding the motifs of a sailing ship depicting the regions rich sea faring legacy of Gopalpur in Odisha; the Sun Temple of Konark representing Odisha’s art and culture; a traditional lamp symbolising light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity and an open book symbolising knowledge, wisdom and education. The name of the university in Odiya surmounts the lamp and book. The name of the university is written below the shield. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ is written above the motifs. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.

RAJENDRA UNIVERSITY

RAJENDRA UNIVERSITY Rajendra University, Balangir, recognized by UGC as a State Public University, owes its origin to an Intermediate college setup in Balangir in 1944 by Maharaja Rajendra Narayan Sighdeo, the then ruler of the erstwhile Patna State and one of the former Chief Ministers of Odisha. This college was subsequently upgraded to a Degree college in 1946. It was granted autonomy with effect from April 1, 2002. It has been upgraded to a university with effect from September 1, 2020. The emblem of the university represents its spirit of modernity. UTKAL UNIVERSITY Pandit Godavarish Mishra, the then Minister of Education, introduced the Utkal University Bill, which was passed by the Odisha Legislative Assembly on June 30, 1943. The university started functioning from this date in room number fifteen of Ravenshaw College, Cuttack in November 27, 1943. The emblem of the university has a book and a lamp at the centre signifying the pursuit of knowledge and kindling the light of knowledge. INDIA PORTS GLOBAL LIMITED India Ports Global Ltd (IPGL) was primarily formed to participate in Shahid Behesthi Port, Chabahar development project with the objective of providing an alternative and reliable access route to landlocked Afghanistan and Central Asian Countries. With the above objective in mind, a SPV comprising a joint shareholding of Jawaharlal Nehru Port and Deendayal Port Trust was incorporated on January 22, 2015. Thereafter the Company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Sagarmala Development Company Limited. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for development of Shahid Behesthi Port, Chabahar was signed on May 6, 2015 and the Contract was signed on May 23, 2016. India Ports Global Chabahar Free Zone (IPGCFZ), Indian SPV at Chabahar was incorporated in Iran in June 2018. Its office at Chabahar was inaugurated on December 24, 2018. The physical take-over of the terminal area, cargo handling equipment and Office building was completed by December 29, 2018.

SPICES BOARD The Spices Board was constituted as a Statutory Body on  February 26, 1987 under Section (3) of the Spices Board Act, 1986. The Board is headed by a chairman with its head office at Kochi and is responsible for the development of cardamom industry and promoting the export of all the fifty-seven spices listed in the Spices Board Act, 1986. Its indigo coloured logo has a ship with its sails on water in a circle within which its name in English is written and below the ship ‘INDIA’ is written. Below the circle the name of he Board and ‘Bharat’ are written in Devanagari.

THE TIMES OF INDIA The logo or masthead of Times of India consists of two white elephants facing each other in front of a crest or shield emblazoned with an eight petalled lotus with a pair of leaves on the top third and below that three sailing ships arranged at the corners of inverted triangle.
