INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDYALAYA The blue and yellow circular emblem of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) has a motif of a crest of cereal sprouting from flowing water and surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि जीवनस्य आधारम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Basis of Life’ and its year of inception. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries the name and place of the university in Devanagari and this is further circumscribed by a blue border with the name and place of the university inscribed in English. The water and cereal represents agricultural growth and development facilitated by the university.

SHRI SHANKARACHARYA PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY The insignia of Shri Shankaracharya Professional University (SSPU) is a yellow shield with very thick blue outlines, which holds a blue circle and a portion of its name in blue. The blue circle holds the motifs of lotus supporting a human head on a base of tripundra, its motto in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’, an open book and the balance portion of its name. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; tripundra denotes prana or life force and the three responsibilities performed by Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva respectively; the open book denotes education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the human head is supported by all the support it needs to learn; yellow s

HIMGIRI ZEE UNIVERSITY The emblem of Himgiri Zee University (HZU) has a circle holding the motifs of Mount Himalayas with rising sun in horizon, which is ensconced in a blue circular border which carries the name of the university supported by a pair of stars. On the blue banner at the bottom of the circular seal, its motto in Sanskrit ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’ (Mantra VI-72, Maha Upanishad) meaning ‘The Whole World is One Family’ is written. The mountains represent geography; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

MONAD UNIVERSITY The emblem of Monad University has a blue colour shield with a torch placed above an open book. The name of the university is written above the book and three dots support the book. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘आधारं सर्व विद्यानाम्’ (Shri Vedanta Desikan, Shloka 1, Hayagriva Stotram) meaning ‘He (God Hayagreeva) is the Abode of All Learning’. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the torch symbolises enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the open book symbolises learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the three yellow dots happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

AMITY UNIVERSITY, KOLKATA The emblem of Amity University at Rajarhat, Kolkata has a shield divided into yellow and dark blue sections. The dark blue portion is a left to right upward sweeping stroke, bearing the name of the university. The yellow portion has a torch, the flame of which is written using its acronym. The shield has blue borderlines. The name and place of the university is written on the right side of the pictorial in classic serif font. The dark blue with contemporary cues of technology, performance and advancement strikes a synergy with the golden yellow radiance of tradition, culture and values. The shield signifies protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and the torch signifies purity and passion for knowledge.
