SARDAR PATEL UNIVERSITY MANDI (H.P.) The emblem of Sardar Patel University Mandi H.P. (SPUM) has a motif of Mount Himalayas with a river flowing below and a half blue circle holding the motifs of a nib of a pen, rising sun, an open book, Dharma Chakra and its motto in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’. All these are ensconced in a yellow circular border on which its name is inscribed in Devanagari and English. The Himalayas represent the geography of the university; the nib denotes freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the rising sun denotes light, universal prosperity and path for growth; the open book represents knowledge, education, learning and wisdom and the Dharma Chakra the continuously changing life.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TEACHER EDUCATION The emblem of Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE) has an open book supporting a rising sun on which its acronym is written. The ‘T’ of the acronym is shown as a teacher writing on a green board. All these are ensconced by a border on which its name and place are inscribed. The open book denotes education, knowledge, learning and wisdom and the rising sun denotes Indian Institute of Teacher Education. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ is inscribed at the bottom of the seal.

KAKATIYA UNIVERSITY

KAKATIYA UNIVERSITY The emblem of Kakatiya University (KU) has the ‘Kakatiya Thoranam’ as its central motif and ensconced by a decorative circular border. It is surmounted by the national emblem ‘Ashoka Chakra’ which is supported on by a pair of serpents. Below the ‘Thoranam’ a Poorna Kumbha’ or Kalasham is placed. The name of the university is written on a circular border in English and Devanagari. Below the circular seal on a black banner embellished with ornaments, the name of the university is written in Telugu. At the bottom of the emblem, the motto of the university is written in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ is inscribed. DAKSHIN DINAJPUR UNIVERSITY The emblem of the Dakshin Dinajpur University (DDU) has a pair of pillars supporting an open book and a quill pen with nib. These are supporting the name of the university inscribed on a slab and supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’. All these are ensconced in a square with a blue outline. The pillars are the bridge to heaven from earth and pillars mean strength, security of foundation and trustworthiness; the open book symbolises knowledge, education and wisdom, the quill symbolises tradition and the nib symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence.

ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE HINDI VISHWAVIDYALAYA Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (ABVHV) was established on December 19, 2011 by Madhya Pradesh Act No. 34, 2011. The orange and red emblem of the university has a monogram using its Devanagari acronym in white colour placed on a red circle and circumscribed by a snake. These are ensconced by a circular border in orange colour with red outline bearing the name of the university in Devanagari and a pair of horns of deer and its year of establishment. At the bottom of this emblem on a red banner the motto of the university is written in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, there is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’. ALLAHABAD DEGREE COLLEGE The University of Allahabad established the Allahabad Degree College in 1956. Its emblem in red, green, blue, yellow and brown has a banyan tree symbolising evergreen, perpetual and continuously growing; a burning torch symbolising passion and inspiration and a book symbolising knowledge and wisdom duly separated by a border of water representing the rivers of the land, ensconced by a circular border which has its name written in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit  ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World there Exists No Purifier Comparable to Knowledge’.
