INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SURAT Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat (IIITS) is an Institute of National Importance established under the Act of Parliament 2017, by erstwhile Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, on not-for-profit and in Public Private Partnership basis. Its emblem has a blue bordered white shield, has sun and two individuals supported by ‘IIIT’ in the national tricolours. The shield is the guarding and protecting the learners and the sun symboilises knowledge and growth. The abstract presentation of the acronym is a symbolism of programming code. At the bottom, its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञाने च उध्यमे सर्व प्रतिष्ठितम्’ meaning ‘Everything is Achieved through Knowledge and Hard Work’ is written.
