DR. B.R. AMBEDKAR UNIVERSITY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES The emblem of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS) has a blue circle housing the motifs of a torch held by multiple hands supported by an open book. This is ensconced by a white circular border with blue outlines on which the name and place of the university is inscribed. Below the circular seal on a white banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘अत्त दीपो भव’ meaning ‘Be Your Own Lamp’ is inscribed. The torch held by multiple hands symbolises eternity, collectivism and growth and the open book symbolises education, knowledge, learning and wisdom.

MGM UNIVERSITY The insignia of MGM University (MGMU) in the tones of grey and brown has a charkha forming the backdrop with a boy leading Mahatma Gandhi holding a stick. Alongside the motif its motto in Sanskrit ‘अप्पो दीपो भव’ meaning ‘Be Your Own Lamp’ is inscribed. Below this the name of the university is written in Devanagari and English. The colour grey denotes strength, longevity, unemotional, detached, balanced and impartial, power, influence, wisdom and intelligence and the colour brown denotes earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition. The Charkha is the symbol of self reliance and constant striving towards prosperity.

MAHATMA GANDHI UDYANIKEE EVAM VANIKEE VISHWAVIDYALAYA The Mahatma Gandhi Udyanikee Evam Vanikee Vishwavidyalaya (MGUVV) or Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry has a predominantly green colour circular emblem. A circular flower houses a circular green banner on which its name and place are inscribed in Devanagari and English. Inside the border, a motif of a fully grown tree supported by an open book, inscribed with ‘We the people of India…’ in English and Devanagari. Below these its motto in Sanskrit ‘अत्त दीपोभव’ meaning ‘Be Your Own Lamp’, its year of inception and a bunch of blue flowers are placed.
