DR. M.G.R. EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE Tmt. Kannammal Educational Trust was formed in 1985 and started Thai Moogambigai Polytechnic College. It acquired Deemed University status in 2003 as Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute (DMEARI). The emblem of the university has a shield divided into four parts in violet and yellow colours. One part has a sun, the second a computer, the third has a DNA chain and the fourth has Caduceus the Staff of Hermes with a pair of snakes entwined and with wings each signifying the fields of education imparted by the university. The shield is crested by its name in a circular line and supported by a pair of laurels and ‘Dr. M.G.R. University’ At the bottom, on a banner its motto ‘Strive to Excel’ is written. UNIVERSITY OF NORTH BENGAL The University of North Bengal was established by an Act of the Legislature of West Bengal in 1962. The motto of the university in Sanskrit is ‘समनो मन्त्रः समितिः समानी’ meaning ‘Common be your prayers, Common be the end of your assembly’. The square emblem in violet and yellow has a motif of Bengali swastika adapted to form an engrossing central figure in a circle, resembling four persons. Adjacent to this on both the sides floral decorations of the region are placed and on its top and bottom its name is written. The emblem was designed by the artist Ajit Dasgupta, who was a professor of art at the university. The emblem was adopted by the university in 1962, the year it was founded. The colour violet symbolises modesty, humility, innocence, purity, faith, hope, wisdom and spirituality and the colour yellow symbolises happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

SESHADRIPURAM EDUCATIONAL TRUST Seshadripuram Educational Trust (SET) is located in the heart of the Garden City, Bengaluru. Seshadripuram Educational Trust runs thirty four educational institutions ranging from Kindergarten to Ph.D courses comprising of nine schools, eight pre university colleges, six degree colleges, three post graduate colleges, one global academy, one law college and two research centres and two other institutions. Its circular emblem has a bold three dimensional sans serif ‘S’ in violet on a book, crested by its year of establishment and supported by an infinite loop symbolising infinite knowledge and learning. These are ensconced in a violet circular border which carries the name in white. At the bottom on a violet banner ‘Institutions’ is written.
