NATIONAL ACCREDITATION AND ASSESSMENT COUNCIL The emblem of the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) has a red circle housing the motifs of a map of Bharat the India holding a black mortarboard hat on which ‘Q’ for quality is written. Its acronym ‘NAAC’ and a dot of where it is located. These are ensconced by a white circular border with a red outline, which bears its name. At the bottom, on a white banner its motto ‘Excellence Credibility Relevance’ is written in black. The mortarboard or Oxford hat refers to the educational institutions the NAAC assess for quality; the map of India about geographical scope and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

HARICHAND GURUCHAND UNIVERSITY The blue colour circular emblem of Harichand Guruchand University (HGU) has the monogram of its acronym placed on the motif of an open book surmounted by a mortarboard hat and supported by the numerals of its year of establishment. All theses are placed in a blue circle with white outline and ensconced by a blue border, which carries its name in Bengali and English. The open book symbolises knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the mortarboard or oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; saffron triangular flags on the border denote sacrifice; the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.  

PRAGYAN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY The emblem of Pragyan International University (PIU) has a motif of a flower in blue and red with the red petal depicted like an enthusiastic scholar with a mortarboard hat. This is surmounted by the glowing rays of the rising sun. All these motifs are ensconced in a brown circular border, which carries its motto ‘Education Empowerment Enlightenment’. This is further circumscribed by another brown border which carries the name of the university and has a pair of laurels. This seal is further supported by a multi-pointed star. The flower motif and the scholar with mortarboard hat signifies education, learning, wisdom, educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage. The rising sun denotes light, universal prosperity and path for growth; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication and the star represents perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how

ASSAM UNIVERSITY Assam University came into existence in 1994 after enactment of the Assam (Central) University Act 1989. The emblem of the university has mountains and river surrounded by semi circular rays of sun in the upper half and traditional Assamese hat in the lower half. The name of the university and place are placed around the circle on top. Its motto in Sanskrit is ‘प्रत्यबोधकृतिरुपपत्य’ placed at the bottom of the circle supported a open book.
