COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), known for its cutting edge R&D knowledge base in diverse S&T areas, is a contemporary R&D organisation. CSIR has a dynamic network of 37 national laboratories, 39 outreach centres, 1 Innovation Complex and three units with a pan-India presence. Its emblem is a blue gear wheel with four spokes, a lamp of Florence Nightingale in the middle and its name on the wheel’s border in blue colour. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL TEACHERS TRAINING AND RESEARCH, CHENNAI National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chennai was established as an autonomous institute by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India in the year 1964 to improve the quality of technical education system in India and in the southern region in particular. Within this mandate, the institute takes initiatives to offer need based human resource development programmes through appropriate modes and develop curricula and instructional resources. Its emblem has an indigo coloured shield with three lamps supported by three white lines. Below this a rocket, a teacher with ‘TECHNICAL TEACHER TRAINING’ written on a board and computer with antenna receiver are placed. On the right corner of the shield its acronym ‘NITTTR Chennai’ is written. Below the shield on a brown banner ‘PROMOTING EXCELLENCE IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION’ is written in white.

DEFENCE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is the R&D wing of Ministry of Defence, Government of India, with a vision to empower India with cutting-edge defence technologies and a mission to achieve self-reliance in critical defence technologies and systems, while equipping the nation's armed forces with state-of-the-art weapon systems and equipment in accordance with requirements laid down by the three Services. Its circular insignia has the motifs of Indian armed forces in the middle, above which a gear wheel is placed and these are crested by the National Emblem in a light yellow background. It has a white border in which its name and the name of the controlling ministry are written in Devanagari and English. This is ensconced by a blue border which has its acronym in Hindi and English in white.

NICMAR UNIVERSITY

NICMAR UNIVERSITY Originally named as National Institute of Construction Management and Research,  NICMAR has spread its wings to become the First Built Environment University in India. “Established as an autonomous, non-government, not-for-profit academic body, NICMAR was founded in September, 1983 as a Society and a Public Charitable Trust.” “NICMAR University Pune Act (L. C. Bill No. Of 2022) was passed by Maharashtra State Government on 16th March, 2022 and appeared in “Maharashtra Government Gazette” on 12th May 2022 (Mah. Act No. XXXVI of 2022).”  Its emblem in yellow ochre, Brown and dark brown appears like a well built solid structure using the alphabets NICMAR. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF CROP PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY The Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology (Formerly Paddy Processing Research Centre) is a pioneer Research and Development Institute under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. The Institute has its origin way back in 1967 when it was started as research and development laboratory in the Modern Rice Mill complex of Thanjavur Co-operative Marketing Federation (TCMF) at Tiruvarur, Tamilnadu, India under the dedicated leadership and the able guidance of late Dr. V. Subrahmanyan, an eminent scientist and founder Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore. The Institute was later upgraded as a national laboratory with the name Paddy Processing Research Centre - PPRC in 1972. DIRECTORATE OF RICE RESEARCH

DIRECTORATE OF RICE RESEARCH Directorate of Rice Research (DRR) formerly All India Coordinated Rice Improvement Project - AICRIP, was established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research - ICAR in 1965 with its national headquarters at Hyderabad to organize and coordinate multi-location testing of genetic lines and technologies for crop production and protection generated across the country. The Project was elevated to Directorate of Rice Research in 1975 with an added mandate of research in the thrust areas of irrigated rice. The Directorate continues its multi-location All India Coordinated Rice Improvement Programme (AICRIP) with active partnership of 47 funded cooperating centers affiliated to State Agricultural Universities, State Department of Agriculture and other Research Institutes of ICAR. INDIAN COUNCIL OF AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education - DARE, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Formerly known as Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, it was established on 16 July 1929 as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in pursuance of the report of the Royal Commission on Agriculture. The ICAR has its headquarters at New Delhi. The Council is the apex body for co-ordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire country. With 97 ICAR institutes and 47 agricultural universities spread across the country this is one of the largest national agricultural systems in the world. BUREAU OF POLICE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT The Government of India vide Resolution No.8/136/68-P.I (Pers.I) dated 28.08.1970 formally established the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), under the Ministry of Home Affairs giving a new orientation to then existing Police Research and Advisory Council in 1966 with the primary objective of modernization of police force: 1. to take direct and active interest in the issues, 2.  to promote a speedy and systematic study of the police problems and 3. to apply science and technology in the methods and techniques used by police. In addition and as a secondary, the resolution mandated an advisory role also for the Bureau. The Bureau was established with the Research, Statistics and Publication division and Development division initially with a well laid out charter of duties. It also handles Correctional Administration, National Police Missions,  Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science
