DR. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR OPEN UNIVERSITY The red and blue emblem of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) has a bud of a lotus supported by stems and has its motto in Sanskrit ‘स्वाध्यायः परमं तपः’ meaning ‘Self-study is Supreme Penance’ written on its outline. Its acronym is written in blue and below that its motto 'Education for All’ is written in red. The lotus denotes red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

PANDIT SUNDARLAL SHARMA (OPEN) UNIVERSITY The emblem of Pandit Sundarlal Sharma (Open) University (PSSOU) has the motif of Shree Rangnath Temple, which is submerged in Bhakra Dam with a map of the State of Chhattisgarh forming the backdrop on a blue circle. These are ensconced by an orange circular border, on which its name is inscribed in Devanagari. This border has an ornamental decoration in green colour. At the bottom, on a brown banner, its motto in Sanskrit ‘स्वाध्यायः परमं तपः’ meaning ‘Self-study is the Supreme Austerity’ is written. The motif of the temple represents the State’s culture and history.
