KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA, KOLASIB, MIZORAM The green and yellow emblem of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kolasib, Mizoram (KVK) has a green hand holding a circular motif with a green border on which its name, pace and its year of inception are inscribed. Inside the circle a bold motif of cereal with yellow colour crests and green colour leaves are placed. This is an attractive, simple and meaningful emblem serving its purpose well. The colour green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the colour yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE The green emblem of Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (IASRI) is in the form of a window or entrance with an arch. The entrance way has a fish, a cattle and a crest of wheat, a statistical graph of normal curve, A computer and a keyboard. Its name in Devanagari and English circumscribe the pictorial. The motifs of animals and cereal depict agricultural activities; the computer and the graph displayed by it refer to the statistical data and research and the colour green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

ICAR RESEARCH COMPLEX FOR EASTERN REGION The circular emblem of ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER), Patna has a circular border carrying the name of the research centre in Devanagari and English. This ensconced a composite motif of a village agricultural scene with river, fish, farmers, tree, soil, cattle and cereal.

NESTLE INDIA LTD The brown logo of Nestle India Ltd has evolved from its family’s coat of arms as a trademark with a single bird to its current form of three birds and a nest over the years of its existence. In German it means ‘nest’. The current logo has a mother bird feeding two young birds in a nest on a branch with a leaf, thereby creating a visual connection with its cereal products for infants. The name of the company is written below the pictorial using sans serif type in capital and lowercase with round corners and ‘N’ having an elongated horizontal stroke.

INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDYALAYA The blue and yellow circular emblem of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) has a motif of a crest of cereal sprouting from flowing water and surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि जीवनस्य आधारम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Basis of Life’ and its year of inception. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries the name and place of the university in Devanagari and this is further circumscribed by a blue border with the name and place of the university inscribed in English. The water and cereal represents agricultural growth and development facilitated by the university.

G.B. PANT UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY The circular seal of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) has has an open book housed in a gear wheel supported by a two pan beam balance at the bottom and a cattle on the left and a microscope on the right, Staff of Caduceus with a serpent below, surmounted by a plough and its year of establishment at the bottom. All these motifs are ensconced by a light border bearing its name and place in English and a light yellow border with its name and place in Devanagari and supported by a pair of crests of cereal. The motifs represent agriculture and agricultural technology and the colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

PROFESSOR JAYASHANKAR TELANGANA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY

PROFESSOR JAYASHANKAR TELANGANA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY The green and red circular seal of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has a gear wheel holding a map of the State of Telangana housing the motifs of spikes of cereal, a satellite dish antenna, a village house, an open book and a microscope. All these motifs symbolise agriculture and agricultural education and research in Telangana. The gear wheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure. The gear is surrounded by a white border, which bears the name of the university in Telugu and its year of establishment. This is supported by a pair of laurels meaning ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication. All these are ensconced by a red circular border on which its name is inscribed.

UTKAL GRAMEEN BANK

UTKAL GRAMEEN BANK The Utkal Grameen Bank (UGB) operates in seventeen districts of Western and Southern Orissa viz. Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Nabarangpur districts covering fifty seven percent of the total districts and sixty three percent of the geographical area and forty eight percent of the total population of the State as per 2001 census. The bank has an interesting emblem in green and orange. The central motif is a gear wheel in orange with its acronym in the centre placed inside the roof and floor of a house. These are ensconced by a semi circle filled with three columns of stem of paddy and the other half of the circle is treated as a gear wheel. CHAITANYA GODAVARI GRAMEENA BANK Government of India announced the amalgamation of Chaitanya Grameena Bank and Godavari Grameena Bank sponsored by Union Bank of India into a single Regional Rural Bank with its Head Office at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on March 1, 2006. The circular emblem of the bank in green, orange and blue colours has a house holding a rising sun above flowing water, supported on either side by crowns of cereal. These are ensconced in a green circular border which carries its name in Telugu and English. Sun denotes light, universal prosperity and path for growth; water denotes the rivers of the land and its vitality in life; an orange house is the home of contentment and prosperity and the crowns of cereal represents the major produce and the field of agriculture the bank serves. The emblem represents the domain of the operations of the bank and the expected outcomes on the stakeholders and beneficiaries of its operations.

INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL TRIBAL UNIVERSITY, AMARKANTAK

INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL TRIBAL UNIVERSITY, AMARKANTAK The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak has been established by an Act of the Parliament of India. It came into existence by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007 and came into action in July 2008. Its emblem has motifs of a tribal artist with drum, a book, a peacock, rising sun, banyan trees and a river surrounded by a green circular border on which its name is written in Devanagari and English; supported on either side by a crest of cereal and crested by four pairs of horns. On the green pedestal supporting this emblem is the name of the place and a blue banner at the bottom its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या विन्दते अकिलम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge Finds the World’ is written.

AGMARK

AGMARK To assure that the agricultural products in India conform to a specified set of standards approved by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, a certification by the Government of India i.e., AGMARK is used. The present AGMARK standards cover quality guidelines for 205 different commodities spanning a variety of pulses, cereals, essential oils, vegetable oils, fruits, vegetables and semi-processed products such as vermicelli. The term AGMARK was coined by joining the words ‘Ag’ meaning agriculture and ‘mark’ for a certification mark. The logo of AGMARK is a brand mark style consisting of a diamond shaped graphic at the centre that contains the name of the organisation in bilingual form i.e., Hindi and English in yellow and black. ‘एगमार्क’ is written using Devanagari script. The logo is surrounded by ‘Government of India’ typography, which is also bilingual.

n NATIONAL BANK FOR AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) at the instance of the Government of India, constituted a Committee to Review the Arrangements for Institutional Credit for Agriculture and Rural Development (CRAFICARD) to look into these very critical aspects in 1979. Its recommendation was formation of a unique development financial institution which would address these aspirations and creation of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was approved by the Parliament through Act 61 of 1981. NABARD came into existence on July 12, 1982 by transferring the agricultural credit functions of RBI and refinance functions of the then Agricultural Refinance and Development Corporation (ARDC). INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY BHUBANESWAR The birth of the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, (IITBBSR) came on the 60th anniversary of the country's Independence on August 15, 2007. The main campus of IIT Bhubaneswar is situated at the foot of Barunei Hill which is famous for its rich history of sustained resistance during 1803 – 1804 against the British occupation of Khurda Garh, the last independent fort of India. Its emblem has a bicolour - blue and cyan, motif of cereal growing from a book which was started in 2008. It grows out of a circular border with its name written in Hindi. A banner at the bottom bears its name in English.
