ONE STATION ONE PRODUCT Indian Railway launched One Station One Product scheme in Railway Stations from March 25, 2022. It aims to make each railway station a promotional hub and showcase destination for a local product giving a major boost to local industry to make each railway station a promotional hub and showcase destination for a local product, thereby giving a major boost to local industries by providing enhanced livelihood and welfare of local artisans, potters, weavers, handloom weavers, tribals, etc. The stations will act as a marketing channel in the form of an earmarked stall through which the local product distinct to the particular area will be sold. METRO RAILWAY, KOLKATA Metro Railway, Kolkata is the first underground Metro in India. It extends from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash Metro station near Garia, on the busy North-South axis of Kolkata over a length of 31.365 Kms with 26 Stations and 15.70 Kms. of underground section. The Dum Dum - Tollygunge corridor was first selected for implementation and work started on December 29, 1972 and the first line of about 3.4 km between Esplanade and Bhowanipur in India was completed on October 24, 1984 and thrown open for the public. In Phase-I, a length of 16.45 Kms. from Dum Dum to Tollygunge (Mahanayak Uttam Kumar) completed in 1995 and in Phase-II a length of 5.834 Kms from Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to Kavi Nazrul Metro station is completed in August, 2009. RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE In1854 when East Indian Railways employed  certain staff designated as ‘Police’ to denote its own force by enacting the Police Act, 1861 and deployed a contingent for the security of the railway with the owner companies bearing their upkeep. On the recommendation of Railway Police Committee, 1872, Railway Police was organized into ‘Govt. Police’ for Law enforcement and ‘Company Police’ for watch and ward duties in Railways. The actual separation of duties came into effect in 1881. By 1882, as a result of formal division of the Police Force deployed on the railways into ‘Government Police’ and ‘Private (Companies) Police’, the Railway Companies directly assumed the responsibility of protection and Security of their property as well as of the goods entrusted to them by public for carriage. It was only on 29 August 1957 that a Railway Protection Force Act was enacted by the parliament and Railway Security Force was renamed as Railway Protection Force - RPF. The RP
