KAKATIYA UNIVERSITY The emblem of Kakatiya University (KU) has the ‘Kakatiya Thoranam’ as its central motif and ensconced by a decorative circular border. It is surmounted by the national emblem ‘Ashoka Chakra’ which is supported on by a pair of serpents. Below the ‘Thoranam’ a Poorna Kumbha’ or Kalasham is placed. The name of the university is written on a circular border in English and Devanagari. Below the circular seal on a black banner embellished with ornaments, the name of the university is written in Telugu. At the bottom of the emblem, the motto of the university is written in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ is inscribed.
