MORMUGAO PORT AUTHORITY The emblem of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) has the motifs of an anchor, a lighthouse, a ship and a pair of arrows depicting repetition placed on an elliptical globe of the world. Below the ship, its acronym is written in bold red typeface and its name written in Devanagari below that. The motifs refer to port, shipping, loading and unloading and servicing the globe. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty; the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour cyan denotes sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation and emotional balance.

MUMBAI PORT AUTHORITY The blue colour circular emblem of Mumbai Port Authority (MPA) has four circles ensconced by a decorative circular border. The circle has a lighthouse, a sail ship, port with sea and boats and a sailboat representing the port and its activities. The circular border is inscribed with the name of the port in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment. The colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

VISAKHAPATNAM PORT AUTHORITY

VISAKHAPATNAM PORT AUTHORITY The emblem of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has the motif of the location of the port - Dolphin’s Nose with a lighthouse, see and a ship ensconced by a rope on each side. It is crested by a yellow banner bearing its name in Devanagari and supported by another banner bearing its name in English. Its acronym is written on a green slab. Overall, the logo is representative, informative and colourful.

MILAN 2024 The circular seal for the Milan 2024, the multinational naval exercise organised by Indian Navy, has a globe with Ashoka Chakra placed above the map of India, a lighthouse with beacon, a warship with guns and wavy waters of the sea written with ‘Visakhapatnam, India’. These are ensconced by a circular tricolour border referring to India and a blue border, which carries the name of the event, its tagline ‘Camaraderie Cohesion Collaboration’ and a pair of anchors. The emblems circumscribed a rope similar to the one used in seafaring and ships. The globe denotes the reach and scope of the exercises; the naval ship refers to the navies of the participating countries; the blue waters refer to the seas and oceans; the beacon denotes the guiding light and the anchors refer to the navies. 

GOVIND GURU TRIBAL UNIVERSITY

GOVIND GURU TRIBAL UNIVERSITY The emblem of Govind Guru Tribal University (GGTU) has a circular border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari and two swastikas supporting a ‘havan kund’ or sacred fire pit. This border is housing the motifs of a lighthouse on sea supported by a bow and arrow, its year of establishment and an open book. Below this circular seal, on a brown banner, its motto in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु’ (Dialogue between Nachiketa and Yamacharya, 19, Canto 3, Part 3, Katha Upanishad, Krishna Yajur Veda) meaning ‘May our Study be Vigorous and Effective’ is inscribed. The bow represents self-improvement since it requires mastery to use; the arrow symbolises lightning, destiny and knowledge; the lighthouse symbolises hope and security; the open book symbolises learning, education, knowledge and wisdom and Swastika symbolises symbolises the sun, prosperity and good luck. UNIVERSITY OF CALICUT

UNIVERSITY OF CALICUT  University of Calicut (UoC), the largest University in Kerala in terms of the expanse, affiliated colleges and the number of degrees awarded was established in the year 1968. It is the second university to be started in Kerala. ‘Nirmaya Karmana Sree’ being the motto ,which denotes ‘Prosperity will be Generated Through Pure Actions’. It is governed by Calicut University Act 1975, passed by the Legislative Assembly of Kerala. The seal of the university has a lighthouse with a weathercock showing directions and its motto in Sanskrit ‘निर्मय कर्माणा श्रीः’ is written on it are ensconced by a circular border which carries its name in English and its motto in Malayalam ‘നിർമ്മായ  കർമ്മണാ ശ്രീ:’. The platform of the lighthouse is inscribed with the name of the university. The lighthouse and the weathercock are the beacons of knowledge and education showing the path to the aspirants.

KRISHNA UNIVERSITY

KRISHNA UNIVERSITY On the recommendations of Knowledge Commission, Krishna University (KrU) was established, vide Andhra Pradesh Act.No.4 of 1991, G.O’ Ms. No.89 Higher Education (U.E.II) dated June 25, 2008 and G.O Ms. No.109, Higher Education (U.E.II) department dated July 14, 2008 at Machilipatnam, as the town is the headquarters of Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. The name of river Krishna, the lifeline of the Krishna basin and its lower deltaic regions of the Krishna District, is evident etymologically in ‘Krishna’ and the entire district forms the territorial jurisdiction of Krishna University. The lighthouse in the emblem symbolises the pathfinder and the beam of light emerging from it personifies the vital energy manifesting in different forms of life and denotes the geographical location of the varsity, viz.
