KRANTI YOGA TRADITION

The logo of Kranti Yoga Tradition has Lord Ganesha placed inside a lotus with yellow, green, blue, violet, red and orange petals. The Ganesha has ‘ॐ’. The name of the institution is written on the right in red capitals. The lotus represents purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; Lord Ganesha symbolises wisdom, prosperity, beginnings and removal of obstacles and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

The circle is ensconced by an orange circular border inscribed with the name and motto of the college in Devanagari. The motto in Sanskrit reads ‘श्रद्धावान् लभते ज्ञानम्’ (Verse 39, Chapter 4, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘The Believer Attains Knowledge’. The book represents the formal academic education provided by the institution; the landscape depicts the local hills and dales of Chhotanagpur Plateau of the Giridih district where the college is located; the coal symbolizes both the mineral richness of the region and positivity and knowledge gained, which is expected to eventually sparkle like a diamond; and the towers refer to the local power generating capacity.
