NATIONAL LAW SCHOOL OF INDIA UNIVERSITY The brown colour shield is the insignia of the National law School of India University (NLSIU) has a two-pan beam balance representing justice as wielded by statues of Lady Justice and the supporting hands signify the support for justice, healing and life; an open book denoting education, learning, knowledge and wisdom and a map of the Republic of India denoting the university’s service to the nation. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and the colour brown symbolises earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition. Below the shield, its motto in Sanskrit meaning ‘धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः’ (Verse 8.15, Manusmriti, Mahabharata) meaning ‘Those Who Protect the Dharma are Protected by Dharma’ is inscribed.

KARNATAKA STATE LAW UNIVERSITY The circular emblem of Karnataka State Law University (KSLA) has a blue border carrying the name of the university in Kannada, houses the motifs of a two-pan beam balance denoting impartial and balanced justice and jurisprudence; the map of the State of Karnataka nd and glowing sun denoting life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and its name in English. On a blue banner at the bottom of the seal its motto in Kannada ‘ನ್ಯಾಯವೇ ದೇವರು’ meaning 'Justice is God'  is written. The banner supports an open book which refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom. The seal is crested by the seal of the Government of Karnataka.

HIMACHAL PRADESH NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY

HIMACHAL PRADESH NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY The emblem of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) has a circle with the picture of the Himalayan mountains and valley on which motifs of an open book, a Dharma Chakra and a two-pan beam balance are placed. The pictorial circle is ensconced by a white border on which 14 flowers are placed. This has a blue outer border on which its name and its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ are inscribed. Below the circular seal, on a red banner its acronym and place are written. The picture represents the State of Himachal Pradesh; the chakra denotes wheel of justice and life; the beam balance represents the traditional symbols of justice; the flowers represent the State and the open book represents education, knowledge, learning and wisdom.
