MAKHANLAL CHATURVEDI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF JOURNALISM AND COMMUNICATION The cyan colour emblem of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCNUJC) has a nib of a pen held by a sheaf of papers or open book in a cyan circle, which is ensconced by a white border on which its name and motto in Sanskrit ‘आ नो भद्राः क्रतवो यन्तु विशवतः’ (1.89.1, Rig Veda) meaning ‘May We Receive Good Thoughts from All Sides’ are inscribed. The nib supports an antenna. The motifs are circumscribed by twelve inward oriented arrows and formed by motifs of twelve human heads placed around the circle. The nib refers to freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the open book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the arrows and humans refers to collecting and dissemination of information and news and the colour cyan refers to sky, hope and spring, peace, tranquillity, calmness, relaxation and emotional balance.
