DAVANGERE UNIVERSITY

DAVANGERE UNIVERSITY The emblem of Davangere University (DU) is designed on the theme to save the planet earth with the theme of  ‘inclusion and sustainability through education’. The outline of faces in the logo depicts the youth power moving ahead with a mission of development for humanity. The laurels on either side of the globe signify the sustainable approach to protect the environment and earth. The book symbolises the knowledge which is open to everyone to achieve the end. The motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा  ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the globe. The colour scheme of the logo relates to the atmosphere, colour brown is for mother earth, orange for learning, green for life and environment and colour yellow for expansion.

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY The red and black emblem of Darshan University (DU) has an U-shaped shield housing the monogram of ‘DU’ and three stripes cut through its left top edge. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. At the right the name of the university is written in sanserif bold and thin typeface in black. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and the colour red denotes passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

DOON UNIVERSITY

DOON UNIVERSITY The insignia of Doon University (DU) houses the motifs of  rising sun with rays of surmounting the Himalayan Mountains and flowing waters supported by its name in Devanagari and English, its year of establishment and an open book. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्योतिर्वृणीत तमसो विजानन्’ (3-39-7 Rigveda) meaning ‘The Discriminating (Indra) has Separated the Light from the Darkness’ is written along the mountains. A circular line ensconces the motifs. The the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the mountains and the flowing waters denote the geography of the locale; the open book denotes learning, education, knowledge and wisdom and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY

DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY Dibrugarh University, the easternmost University in India, was established in 1965 consequent upon the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965, enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. Its emblem has an oil production platform with a cross section of the earth blow and the flames spewing out of the tower. It is ensconced by a circular border with red and black outlines holding the name of the university and its motto in Sanskrit ‘नियतं कुरु कर्म’ (Shloka 8, Chapter 3, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Do Thou Perform Thy Bounden Duty for Action is Superior to Inaction’ separated by a pair of tea buds. The tea buds are native to the geography and the oil production platform signifies the main local industry.
