FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE OF INDIA The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) was set up by the Government of India in 1960, in the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Studios in Pune. The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) was established in the year 1960 and was formerly known as the 'Film Institute of India'. In 1971, FTII came to be known as the 'Film and Television Institute of India' (FTII) and soon started in-service training programs for Doordarshan, India's public broadcaster. Along with the name change, FTII became an Autonomous Society under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The emblem of FTTI designed by S. M. Shah is a monogram of its acronym, which skillfully combines both the Devanagari and English scripts. It offers a complete spectrum of genres from thrillers to dramas, events to comedies, game shows to dance shows and much more. Its logo is a square golden coloured glittering and embossed ‘S’ place in a square of which the top half is dark brown and the bottom half is gold coloured.
