YOGADA INDIA The logo of Yogada India has a pictorial and a word mark. The pictorial has a banyan tree under which a person is sitting on a lotus and on the right its name is written in capital and lowercase. At the bottom, ‘In the Himalayas’ is written. The tree refers to strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity and the lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.

ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES DR RAM MANOHAR LOHIA HOSPITAL The circular emblem of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (ABVIMS RMLH) has a blue circle houning a green banyan tree on which, the Staff of Hermes entwined by a pair of serpents. The tree is supported on either side by  a swastika and the circle is outlined by a white line. It has a blue border on which its motto in Sanskrit ‘करुणा निष्ठा कौशलम् सेवा’ meaning ‘Compassion Loyalty Skill Service’ is inscribed. These are ensconced by a white circular border with black outline which bears its name. The tree denotes strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; the Staff refers to medicine and medical profession and the swastikas denotes sun, prosperity and good luck.

KARNATAK UNIVERSITY DHARWAD

KARNATAK UNIVERSITY DHARWAD The blue and green emblem of Karnatak University Dharwad (KUD) has a shield holding the motifs of a banyan tree crested by an open book supported by an elephant and a bull, its motto in Kannada on a white banner and a rising sun over a water body. Below the shield, on a banner the name of the university is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the elephant and the bullock denote the symbols of the State of Karnataka; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the waterbody denotes life, motion and fertility; the banyan tree denotes strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity and the open book refers to learning, knowledge, education and wisdom. The motto on the banner states that ‘ಅರಿವೇ ಗುರು’ meaning ‘Wisdom is Guru’.

GSFC UNIVERSITY The emblem of GSFC University (GSFCU) has a pictorial in which a banyan tree is placed in a yellow circle and supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘बुद्धिज्ञानेन शुद्धयति’ (226, Part 1, Sri Vaikhanasa Grihya Sutra) meaning ‘Wisdom is Purified by Knowledge’. On the right its name is written in sans serif  and below this its slogan ‘Education Re-envisioned’ is written. The banyan tree symbolises strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity and the colour yellow symbolises happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA The circular emblem of Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (SGCG), formerly known a s Sarguja University has a circular border in orange and green and has its name, place and motto inscribed in Devanagari and supported by a pair of tribal ornaments. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’. Inside the border, motifs of a drum, supported by a pair of horns; an open book topped by a red sun ; a banyan tree and a pair of crests of millets are placed. The banyan tree symbolises strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; the sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the open book denotes knowledge, education, wisdom and learning and horns, drum and crests of millets denote tribal culture and food.

These motifs are ensconced by a white border with blue outlines on which its name, place and motto are inscribed. The motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानः कर्मसु कौशलं’ (Shloka 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Knowledge is Skill in Action’. PALAMURU UNIVERSITY The emblem of Palamuru University has a banyan tree placed inside a circle. The tree is supported by an open book on a book reading stand, with a traditional lamp and a nib of a pen. The circle is topped by the motif of the Nagarjuna Sagar dam and crested by Dharma Chakra. All these are circumscribed by a blue toned banner which bears the name of the university in English, Devanagari and Urdu. A black circular line holds all these elements. The name of the university is inscribed on a blue banner in Telugu. BABU DINESH SINGH UNIVERSITY Babu Dinesh Singh University (BDSU) at Garhwa, Jharkhand is a Private University has been established on February 17, 2023. The emblem of the university has a banyan tree supporting a rising sun enclosing a mortarboard hat and acronym of its name and tagline and supported by its year of establishment. These are enclosed in a blue circular border, which carries its name and place.This emblem is placed on a flower spread with twelve blue leaves and twelve greenish blue petals. The emblem is supported on either side by laurels and by a golden banner at the bottom. INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, HYDERABAD International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH) is an autonomous university, founded as a not for profit public private partnership (N-PPP) in 1998 and is the first IIIT in India under this model. Over the years, the institute has evolved strong research programmes in various areas, with an emphasis on technology and applied research for industry and society. The blue colour emblem of the university has a banyan tree or ‘Kalpa Vriksha’ or ‘Tree of Wish Fulfillment’ which symbolises longevity and has important medicinal properties. The very size of the banyan tree makes it a habitat for a large number of creatures. For centuries the banyan tree has been a central point for the village communities of India. The name of the institute is written using serif font.

GUJARAT VIDYAPITH

GUJARAT VIDYAPITH Gujarat Vidyapith was founded by Mahatma Gandhi on October 18, 1920. Gujarat Vidyapith has been a deemed university since 1963. The emblem of the university is an open lotus flower. In it, in Devanagari script, is written ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ meaning ‘Knowledge is That which Liberates (us)’. In Arabic it is written ‘al hikamato zallatual monimine fahaiso uajedaha ahakko leha’. The banyan tree in the emblem signifies growth. There is also the moon that symbolises beauty, calmness and development. Lotus shows non-attachment and holy spirit and the lamps on either side in a circle symbolise knowledge. The university was established for the purpose of achieving independence. The object of political independence was temporary but the devotion for self-liberation and knowledge are its permanent ideals. This devotion should continue to grow like a banyan tree and moon with a spirit of non-attachment of a lotus.

INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL TRIBAL UNIVERSITY, AMARKANTAK

INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL TRIBAL UNIVERSITY, AMARKANTAK The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak has been established by an Act of the Parliament of India. It came into existence by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007 and came into action in July 2008. Its emblem has motifs of a tribal artist with drum, a book, a peacock, rising sun, banyan trees and a river surrounded by a green circular border on which its name is written in Devanagari and English; supported on either side by a crest of cereal and crested by four pairs of horns. On the green pedestal supporting this emblem is the name of the place and a blue banner at the bottom its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या विन्दते अकिलम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge Finds the World’ is written.

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF JHARKHAND

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF JHARKHAND The Central University of Jharkhand came into being on March 1, 2009. The three colours of the logo have been chosen with reference to what the ancient Upanishads. Green stands for vitality and growth and greenery of the region; maroon and yellow ring symbolises existence and dynamism, simplicity and wisdom; golden yellow stands for knowledge, wisdom and prosperity; wheat crown represents the rich agriculture of Jharkhand and banyan tree represents learning, enlightenment and magnificence. The motto of the university in Sanskrit is ‘ज्ञानाद हि बुद्धि कौशलम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge to Wisdom’.

ALLAHABAD DEGREE COLLEGE

ALLAHABAD DEGREE COLLEGE The University of Allahabad established the Allahabad Degree College in 1956. Its emblem in red, green, blue, yellow and brown has a banyan tree symbolising evergreen, perpetual and continuously growing; a burning torch symbolising passion and inspiration and a book symbolising knowledge and wisdom duly separated by a border of water representing the rivers of the land, ensconced by a circular border which has its name written in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit  ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World there Exists No Purifier Comparable to Knowledge’. The emblem is duly bordered by a pair of red lines.
