DINAMANI Dinamani is a Tamil daily newspaper which was established in 1933 and is owned by The New Indian Express Group. The first edition was published on September 11. It is printed and published from Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Madurai, New Delhi, Tirunelveli, Tiruchirappalli, Vellore and Villupuram. Its logo has an emblem with a pair of lions supporting a pair of flags ensconced in an oval. Below this is a wreath supported by a banner with ‘SATYAMEVA JAYATE’ written on it. Lions symbolize pride, honesty, fearlessness and leadership and the flags represent the nation. KASHI TAMIL SANGAMAM

KASHI TAMIL SANGAMAM The Ministry of Education, Government of India will organise 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam' - a month long programme from November 16, 2022 - to rediscover the centuries-old bond of knowledge and ancient civilizational linkage between Varanasi and Tamilnadu. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed that over 2400 Tamils in twelve groups from diverse sections of society, including academics, spiritualism, philosophy, trade and commerce, agriculture, entrepreneurship, arts and artisanship will visit Kashi for eight days to get familiarised with the ancient knowledge shared by these two ancient cities. These people will come from Rameswaram, Chennai and Coimbatore. Seminars, discussions and lectures will be held during the programme. The programme will be organised under the framework of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'. IIT-Madras and Banaras Hindu University are the hosting partners of this mega event. PALLAVA DYNASTY PALLAVA DYNASTY The Pallava Dynasty existed from 275 CE to 897 CE, ruling a significant portion of the Deccan, also known as Thondaimandalam. The dynasty rose to prominence after the downfall of the Satavahana dynasty, with whom they had formerly served as feudatories. The Pallavas became a major South Indian power during the reign of Mahendravarman I (600–630 CE) and Narasimhavarman I (630–668 CE) and dominated the southern Telugu Region and the northern parts of the Tamil region for about 600 years, until the end of the 9th century. All through their reign, they remained in constant conflict with both the Chalukyas of Badami in the north and the Tamil kingdoms of Chola and Pandyas in the south. The Pallavas were finally defeated by the Chola ruler Aditya I in the ninth century CE.
