PERIYAR MANIAMMAI INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology (PMIST) has evolved from Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for Women established in 1988, by the Periyar Maniammai Educational and Charitable Society. Since August 17, 2007 it has been functioning as Deemed to be University. The emblem of the institute has a four coloured hexagon divided into four parts of cyan, orange, yellow and red. These hold the motifs of open book, torch, Mortarboard hat and a set of four meshing gears respectively. The hexagon is circumscribed by its name and its acronym.
