RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY Rabindra Bharati University was founded on May 8, 1962, under the Rabindra Bharati Act to mark the birth centenary of poet Rabindranath Tagore at his residential house at Kolkata. The emblem of the university is a modified version of Vishva Bharati University in square shape with woodcut like elements dividing the square into six parts. The upper part bears the name of the university in Bengali and in the centre a lotus with sixteen petals holding a book of palm leaf manuscript. The side panels house a pen in one and a vina and the bottom panels hold a swastika, its name in Devanagari and a mask of folk dance. The palm leaf book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom; the lotus symbolises purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the pen represents freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the vina represents music, arts and dance;

SHREE SOMNATH SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY Shree Somnath Sanskrit University (SSSU) was created by the Gujarat State government through the Shree Somnath Sanskrit University Act in 2005 for the research and teaching of Sanskrit literature. The emblem of the university has a traditional lamp placed on a bunch of palm leaf manuscripts and placed in a yellow circle with an orange border. It is ensconced by a yellow and orange border on which its name and place is written in Devanagari. Below the circle, on a banner, the motto of the university is inscribed with a quote from Kalidasa’s Meghdootam 20. It reads in Sanskrit ‘पूर्णता गौरवाय’ meaning ‘Fullness Contributes to Heaviness and the Best (Respect)’. The palm leaf manuscript symbolises the traditional knowledge and wisdom; the traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the colour yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity and orange

NATIONAL SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY National Sanskrit University (NSU), earlier known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha is a central university in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. The motto of the National Sanskrit University was chosen from Brihadaranyakopanishad as engraved on its emblem Tamaso ma Jyotirgamaya (Lead Me Unto Light from Darkness) explicitly focuses on the central purport of education and also speaks of the vision and the idealism for which the University was established. The university’s emblem has has a lotus - symbolising purity, knowledge and wisdom; on a ocean - water body symbolising expansiveness, immeasurable and infinity in the background of a sun - symbolising light, enlightenment and power are ensconced in a circular border which bears its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’. These are supported by a bundle of palm leaf scriptures on a pedestal - symbolising ancient knowledge and wisdom and on each side of the scriptures a traditional lamp - symbol
