VIGNAN'S FOUNDATION FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (VFSTR) is in Andhra Pradesh, established in 1997 and designated as a ‘Deemed to be’ University in 2008. The logo of the university has a purple shield outline drawn with strokes of brush in purple and has a blue colour five-pointed star in the centre, with spokes originating from its counters forming a circle. At its right its name is written in red and black colour sans serif letters. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the five-pointed star, also known as a pentagram, is a symbol with a long and varied history.
