BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO This programme was launched by the Prime Minister of India at Panipat, Haryana on January 22, 2015. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative addresses the declining child sex ratio (CSR) and related issues of women empowerment over the lifecycle. It is a tri-ministerial effort of the Ministries of Women and Child Development, Health and Family Welfare and Human Resource Development. The emphasis is laid on mindset change through training, sensitization, awareness raising and community mobilisation on ground. The logo for Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao was designed by Shri A. J. Raghuvendra, is a pictorial mark consisting of a picture or image of a teenage girl holding books. The picture or image as a part of the logo is used to express the identity of the scheme. The logo symbolises the rights, hopes and aspirations of the girl child for a life of dignity and equality.
