ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY The insignia of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) has a circular seal supported by a blue banner bearing its motto in Sanskrit ‘आरोग्यमेव अटल अमृतम्’ meaning ‘Health is the Ultimate Nectar’. The emblem houses the motifs of the Staff of Caduceus or the Staff of Hermes with a pair of wings and entwined serpents supporting rising sun and supported by an open book at the bottom and a pair of fish on sides on a white circle. The circle is ensconced in a blue border which carries its name in English and Devanagari. The sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the staff denotes medicine and medical profession; the fish represent the State of Uttar Pradesh and the open book denotes education, learning, knowledge and wisdom.

KERALA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES The circular emblem of the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) in the yellow ochre and brown has a mother and child held by a supporting palm with a traditional lamp placed at the bottom and circumscribed by its name. These are supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः’ (2.35.51, Garuda Purana) meaning ‘May All be Prosperous, May All be free from infirmities’ and an open book symbolising education, knowledge and wisdom. The traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity and the palm holding the mother and child symbolises care, nourishment, support and protection.

NATIONAL HEALTH MISSION

NATIONAL HEALTH MISSION The National Health Mission (NHM) encompasses its two Sub-Missions, The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and The National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). The main programmatic components include health system strengthening, Reproductive-Maternal- Neonatal-Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) and communicable and non-communicable diseases. Its emblem is a pictorial with a red colour segment of an oval serving as a shelter, in which the icons of a family - a man, a girl child and a woman are shown. Above them a yellow sun is shining. The name of the mission is written above the oval in English and at the bottom in Devanagari.

EX-SERVICEMEN CONTRIBUTORY HEALTH SCHEME Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) was launched with effect from April 1, 2003. The Scheme aims to provide allopathic and AYUSH medicare to ex-servicemen pensioners and their dependents through a network of ECHS Polyclinics, Service medical facilities, government hospitals, empanelled private hospitals/specified Government AYUSH hospitals spread across the country. The Scheme has been structured on the lines of CGHS to ensure cashless transactions for the patients and is financed by the Government of India. ECHS Polyclinics are designed to provide 'out patient care' which includes consultation, essential investigation and provision of medicines. Specialized consultations, investigations and 'in patient care' (hospitalisation) is provided through spare capacity available in Service hospitals, government hospitals, private hospitals empanelled with ECHS. PRADHAN MANTRI JAN AROGYA YOJANA “Ensuring good health cover or quality hospital services for the citizens of India, especially the poor and vulnerable section, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) is an initiative by the Prime Minister and was launched in 2018, under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Also known as the Ayushman Bharat Yojana or the National Health Protection Scheme, the initiative aims at making required interventions in the healthcare systems in the country. The PM-JAY logo shows the expanded form written in Devanagari script at the top. The middle part shows the icon of a human being sitting in an upright position and is preceded by petals of a flower, which symbolizes sound health and wellbeing. This spot also mentions आयुष्मान भारत in Devanagari script, which indicates longevity or long life of human beings.
