On its right its acronym is written in blue serif typeface and its name is written below that. The colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour orange signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.

The emblem of the university has three layers of concentric circles of orange, light orange and a circle consists of motifs of Mount Kailas with ‘ॐ’ inscribed on; a green valley; typical Buddhist monastery; a stupa; its acronym ‘SSJU’ and an open book supporting all. All these are supported by a magenta coloured banner which bears its year of formation.
