SYMBIOSIS INTERNATIONAL (DEEMED UNIVERSITY) Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is a multi-disciplinary university offering its students and faculty a vibrant learning ecosystem designed around its multi-cultural and innovative ethos. It was established in 1971 by Prof. Dr. S.B. Mujumdar and has campuses in four states and six cities in India. Its insignia red colour has an emblem, in which a globe is tightly hugged by a stylized ‘S’, with its motto ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’ meaning 'World is One Family' written at the bottom in Sanskrit. The colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

Established by the Symbiosis Open Education Society on May 3, 2017, Symbiosis Skills and Professional University is the first skill building and development university in the state of Maharashtra. The red colour emblem of SSPU is in the form of a gear wheel, supporting a circular border bearing its name and place that circumscribes the logo of the parent Symbiosis supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’meaning ‘The World is One Family’ and these are placed inside a nib of a pen.
