DR RAM MANOHAR LOHIA AWADH UNIVERSITY The emblem of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University (RMLAU) holds the motifs of a rising sun glowing above a flowing body of water circumscribed by its name in Devanagari and motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरेकम्’ (34/1, Yajurved) meaning ‘The Mind is the Only Light of the Senses’. All these are ensconced by a blue circle. The flowing water denotes life, purification, transformation, change and renewal and the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.

SIKKIM MANIPAL UNIVERSITY The insignia of the Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is known as ‘Manipal Mogo’ in short. The visual identity is centred around the ‘manah’ (mind) symbol. The ‘manah’ is about the development of the human mind, which is innovating daily to give the best solutions to life’s customers. The rich orange tone of copper signifies the change from the past (our heritage) to a bright and prosperous future. This emblem captures the exploring, caring nature to bring alive through the business of education. The symbol is supported by a pair of laurels and its tagline ‘Inspired by Life’ is inscribed at the bottom. The laurels signify ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolising the union of body and consciousness. Today it is practised in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. Recognising its universal appeal, on December 11, 2014, the United Nations proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131. The draft resolution establishing the International Day of Yoga was proposed by India and endorsed by a record 175 member states. The proposal was first introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address during the opening of the sixty ninth session of the General Assembly. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. The motto of IIt Guwahati is ‘ज्ञान ही शक्ति है’ which means ‘Knowledge Is Power’. The emblem of IITG in Yellow ochre, red and blue  was designed by Yeshwant Chaudhary in 1994, based on the concept of sound connection between the mind, body and soul. The concept underlines the deep philosophy of cosmic beliefs in the field of yoga (a philosophy practised in India since the Vedic times). The triad connected with sound training and education creates a unified assimilation of true Indian values of education.
