MANIPUR INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

MANIPUR INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY The Manipur International University (MIU) was established through the Manipur International University Ordinance, 2018 (Manipur Ordinance No.1 of 2018) as a State Private University. The circular emblem of the university has a number of motifs. The Dharma Chakra of the national flag crested by a snake surmounted by a crescent and a pair of laurels and on either side by elephants. Below the chakra on two banners the name of the university is written in Meiteilon and English. The ‘Chakra Manipura’ emblem of Manipur tops all the motifs and on its sides the motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानम् अनन्तम्’ (Slokh 1, Sri Govindashtakam) meaning ‘Knowledge is Infinite’ is inscribed. The emblem has a decorative border. The elephants, Snake with crescent and Chakra Manipura are the traditional symbols of Manipur and its royals.

ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE HINDI VISHWAVIDYALAYA Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (ABVHV) was established on December 19, 2011 by Madhya Pradesh Act No. 34, 2011. The orange and red emblem of the university has a monogram using its Devanagari acronym in white colour placed on a red circle and circumscribed by a snake. These are ensconced by a circular border in orange colour with red outline bearing the name of the university in Devanagari and a pair of horns of deer and its year of establishment. At the bottom of this emblem on a red banner the motto of the university is written in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, there is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’. The snake or Naga symbolises rebirth, death and mortality, due to its casting of its skin and being symbolically ‘reborn’  in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism philosophies. WEST BENGAL UNIVERSITY OF ANIMAL AND FISHERY SCIENCES West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) was established on January 2, 1995 vide West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences Act - 1995. The emblem of the university is in the form of a shield in blue colour with the motifs of zebu bull seal of Harappa supported by a rising sun; caduceus or the Staff of Hermes, depicted as a stick entwined by two snakes and surmounted wings; a rabbit and a fish. At the bottom edge of the shield, its year of establishment is written. The shield has a border line. The name of the university is written as an arc of a circle at the bottom of the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery. The zebu bull may symbolise the leader of the herd, whose strength and virility protects the herd and ensures the procreation of the species or it stands for a sacrificial animal. When carved in stone, the zebu bull probably represents
