SRI GURU RAM DAS UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences (SGRDIHS), Sri Amritsar was established in 1997 for MBBS course which was recognized by MCI in the year 2003. The emblem of the university has a blue sprocket wheel with a inner border holding the name of the university and ‘Sri Amritsar’. Inside these it has Caduceus the staff of Hermes with wings entwined by a pair of snakes symbolising medical profession and supported by laurels and the year of formation of the university. Its motto ‘Dissection to Reconstruction - Producing Excellence’ is written on the top. At the background a four coloured - green, red, blue and yellow pattern similar to Pac Man logo is placed to show its service to the complete spectrum of medical services. The sprocket wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation, timing, order and structure and laurels are symbols of victory and achievement.
