ABHILASHI UNIVERSITY The emblem of the Abhilashi University (AU) has a Goddess Saraswati sitting on a white lotus, with veena supported by an open book. The image is ensconced by a decorative golden border and a red circular border on which its name is inscribed. Below this round seal on a red banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या ददाति विनयम्’ (Narayan Pandit, 6, Hitopadesha) meaning ‘Education Makes one Humble’. Goddess Saraswati represents education, learning, wisdom and knowledge; the open book also symbolises the same and the colour red denotes passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

KALAHANDI UNIVERSITY

KALAHANDI UNIVERSITY The university started as a private college named Kalahandi Science College from July 18, 1960 continued until it was taken over by the government on December 1, 1961 and renamed Government Science College, Bhawanipatna. It was conferred with Autonomous Status in 2002. It was upgraded to an affiliating university September 1, 2020 and named as Kalahandi University, Bhawanipatna. The emblem of the university has a shield divided into four portions and they hold the motifs of a book holder with an open book, ink bottle, pen and quill pen; an irrigation dam and a grove of trees; a rising sun from mountains with water body and a forest; a traditional lamp and incense sticks on holder and a diagram of an atom. The motifs represent the geography and its traditions. The open book with the writing accessories denotes education, knowledge and wisdom, the dam and grove and forest depict the geography; the rising sun denote light, universal prosperity and path for grow

JAI PRAKASH VISHWAVIDYALAYA

JAI PRAKASH VISHWAVIDYALAYA Jai Prakash Vishwavidyala (JPV) was established at Chapra on November 22, 1990 by by Carving it out from the then Bihar University Muzaffarpur. The emblem of the university has a torch rising from an open book in a blue circle surrounded by a four petalled lotus, which is placed in a circle with green outline. These are ensconced by a light yellow colour border, which bears the name of the university and place in Devanagari. Below the seal on a banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या ददाति विनयम्’ (Narayan Pandit, 6, Hitopadesha) meaning ‘Knowledge Makes One Humble’ is inscribed. The torch symbolises enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom; the four petals of lotus symbolise greatest joy, natural pleasure, delight in controlling passion and blissfulness in concentration.

NEHRU GRAM BHARATI

NEHRU GRAM BHARATI Nehru Gram Bharati (NGB) is a Deemed to be University which was established in 2008. The emblem of the university has a globe superimposed by a flame of a lamp above an open with its pages written on with its name in Devanagari, supported by the name of the place in Devanagari and a green colour house. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या ददाति विनयम्’ (Narayana Pandita, 0.6, Hitopadesha) meaning ‘Knowledge Makes One Humble’ is inscribed on the green house. All these are ensconced inside a white border with green and blue outlines which carries the name, status and year ot he establishment of the university. The globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the flame of the lamp denotes light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the open book denotes knowledge, education and wisdom and the house represents the institution.

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF KARNATAKA

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF KARNATAKA The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) has been established by an Act of the Parliament at Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It is one of the 16 new Central Universities established by the Government of India in districts, which have Graduate Enrolment Ratio of less than the national average of eleven percent. The university keenly identifies itself with these universal symbols of humanism and harmony in yellow, red, green blue and black. These ideas have found expression through the famous and old symbol of the ‘Tree of Life’ which is taken as the basic motif for the logo and expressed in contemporary terms. The figurine at the bottom, representing the scholar, is seen reaching out to life in all its expansiveness and leading to knowledge and enlightenment.” Its motto in Sanskrit as stated in the emblem is ‘विद्या ददाति विनयम्’ meaning ‘Knowledge Gives Humility'.
