The shield is ensconced by a white circular border with black outlines bearing its name and place. These are supported by a pair of laurels on sides and by a banner bearing the name of the State at the bottom. The Staff refers to medicine and the medical profession; the shield refers to protection, safety, heritage, authority and bravery and the laurels refer to ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

VETERINARY COUNCIL OF INDIA The blue circular emblem of Veterinary Council of India (VCI) has a cattle placed on the pedestal of the Ashoka Pillar supported by the Staff of Hermes placed inside the letter ‘V’ and a banner. Its motto in Sanskrit and English are placed around the motifs. All these are ensconced in a circle with blue outlines in the form of a border. RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES The emblem of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) is an expression of the confluence of both Eastern and Western Health Sciences. It has a staff with entwined a pair of serpents and wings, symbolising Gods of Health - Hermes and Mercury, is adapted as a symbol of medicine and medical sciences. The pot atop the wand is Amrutha Kalasham of Dhanvanthri, the father of all health sciences. The wings represent the human soul called Hamsa. The rising sun symbolises knowledge and enlightenment. The pair of twigs of leaves symbolise olive branches Vanaspathi (Aushadi) held in the hands of Dhanvanthri. The lamp at the bottom depicts human energy or kundalini. BIHAR UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES Bihar University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Patna was established on July 1, 2022 by the Government of Bihar through the Bihar University of Health Sciences Act 2021 (Bihar Act 19 of 2021) to affiliate all the existing health science colleges and institutions.
