MAHATMA GANDHI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES The pictorial motif of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) has a picture of Mahatma examining through a microscope supported by a Staff of Hermes entwined by a pair of serpents. The Staff is crested by a banner on which its motto in Devanagari ‘सत्य-धर्म-प्रेम’ meaning ‘Truth-Righteousness-Love’ is written and supported by a banner on which ‘Sevagram’ is written. All these are ensconced by a circular decorative border, which carries the name of the institution.

PASTEUR INSTITUTE OF INDIA The red colour emblem of Pasteur Institute of India (PII) has a Staff of Hermes supported by a pair of entwined snakes and wings and crested by a flame. Below the Staff is year of inception is written. It is surmounted by its name and place written as an arc. At the bottom, on a banner its motto ‘To Serve To Seek To Find and Not To Yield’ is inscribed. The Staff refers to medicine and the medical profession; the flame denotes  enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

VETERINARY COUNCIL OF INDIA The blue circular emblem of Veterinary Council of India (VCI) has a cattle placed on the pedestal of the Ashoka Pillar supported by the Staff of Hermes placed inside the letter ‘V’ and a banner. Its motto in Sanskrit and English are placed around the motifs. All these are ensconced in a circle with blue outlines in the form of a border. The border is inscribed with its name in Devanagari and English. The Staff of Hermes represents medicine and medical education.

RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES The emblem of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) is an expression of the confluence of both Eastern and Western Health Sciences. It has a staff with entwined a pair of serpents and wings, symbolising Gods of Health - Hermes and Mercury, is adapted as a symbol of medicine and medical sciences. The pot atop the wand is Amrutha Kalasham of Dhanvanthri, the father of all health sciences. The wings represent the human soul called Hamsa. The rising sun symbolises knowledge and enlightenment. NANAJI DESHMUKH PASHU CHIKITSA VIGYAN VISHWAVIDYALAYA The emblem of Nanaji Deshmukh Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya (NDVSU) has a blue circular border bearing the name and place of the university inscribed. It houses a white circular border and a light blue circle. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘जीवोः रक्षति रक्षितः’ meaning ‘Life Protects Those Who Protect It’ and its year of inception are written on the white border. On the light blue circle, motifs of Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined serpents and wings and crested by rising sun; a hen, a tiger, a fish and cattle representing veterinary medicine and science. The sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.

LALA LAJPAT RAI UNIVERSITY OF VETERINARY AND ANIMAL SCIENCES The emblem of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) has a brown circular border carrying the name and place of the university and houses the motifs of letter ‘V’ in blue and bold, the Staff of Hermes entwined with a serpent supported by a globe of earth in the background and surmounted by its name in Devanagari. Below the circular seal, on a white banner with black outlines its motto in Sanskrit ‘राष्ट्रीन्नयजं पशुवर्थनम्’ meaning ‘Nation for Animals’ is inscribed.

PT. BHAGWAT DAYAL SHARMA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES The circular emblem of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (PBDASUHS) houses the motifs of Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined serpents and a wings crested by a traditional lamp and supported by an open book and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः’ (1.4.14, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad ) meaning ‘May All be Healthy’. KRISHNA VISHWA VIDYAPEETH The seal of Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (KVV) is a blue shield white border lines and motifs in white. P.V. NARSIMHA RAO TELANGANA VETERINARY UNIVERSITY The seal of the P.V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU), has a circle holding the motifs of a map of the State of Telangana surrounded by a bullock, a sheep, a microscope, a pair of fish and a hen. BIHAR UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES Bihar University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Patna was established on July 1, 2022 by the Government of Bihar through the Bihar University of Health Sciences Act 2021 (Bihar Act 19 of 2021) to affiliate all the existing health science colleges and institutions.
