Image
TAMILNADU NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY Tamilnadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature (Act No. 9 of 2012) to provide quality legal education at the global level. TNNLU is the brainchild of the former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The violet coloured circular emblem of the university has the motifs of a two-pan beam balance weighing scale, supported by a pair of hands and topped by a wheel. The wheel signifies life and its continuity, natural justice and time; the scales are the traditional symbols of justice as wielded by statues of Lady Justice and the supporting hands signify the support for justice, healing and life. In the border around these motifs the name of the university is written on top and its motto in Tamil ‘அறம் வெல்லும்’ and ‘Virtue Triumphs’ are written.
