INSTITUTE OF LIVER AND BILIARY SCIENCES  The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) has been established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as an autonomous institute, under the Societies Act. ILBS is a deemed university under the UGC Act. The emblem of the institute has a pictorial created with a liver in red colour and a blue swoosh representing the biliary system and on its right its acronym in lowercase letters is written in blue.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY DELHI National Institute of Technology Delhi (NITD) is one of the thirty one NITs established in the year 2010 by an act of parliament and has been declared as an Institute of National Importance. NIT Delhi is an autonomous institute which functions under the aegis of Ministry of Education, Government of India. The emblem of NITD seems to have been inspired by architecture and building design concepts. It has its acronym arranged as blocks of buildings as walls, entrances, windows and openings, arranged one over the other. The ‘building’ has a curved finish of horizontal lines. This is ensconced by a circular border resembling the Greek Key or Meandros pattern. SOUTH DELHI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the second largest civic body was trifurcated in 2012 into South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), North Delhi Municipal Corporation(NDMC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation(EDMC). SDMC is serving the population of almost 56 lakhs citizens with a responsibility of monitoring, upgrading and developing civic amenities efficiently with a view to create a better tomorrow for citizens of Delhi. It occupies an area of 656.91 square kilometres. Its insignia in the form of a shield in green, red and blue has been divided into three parts. The top two parts show Red Fort and a monument. The dividing line is adorned by Qutub Minar. The third part has an opened book, below which a drain is shown. It is surrounded by a circular border, on which the name of the corporation is written in Hindi and English. This is supported by a pedestal. A banner at the bottom has its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’

EAST DELHI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION

EAST DELHI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) was one of the municipal corporations in Delhi, India created after the former Municipal Corporation of Delhi was trifurcated in 2012. It occupied an area of 140 km2 (54 sq mi) which was further divided into two zones (Shahdara North and Shahdara East zone) and 64 Wards, serving the population of almost 18 lakhs citizens in Delhi. Its insignia in the form of a shield in green, red and blue has been divided into three parts. The top two parts show Red Fort and a monument. The dividing line is adorned by Qutub Minar. NORTH DELHI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the second largest civic body was trifurcated in 2012 into North DMC, South DMC and East DMC. North DMC is serving the population of almost 62 lakh citizens with a responsibility of monitoring, upgrading and developing civic amenities efficiently with a view to create a better tomorrow for citizens of Delhi. It occupies an area of 605 square kilometre, which is about 43% of total Delhi area. A road length of 10153 Km. (in 12 feet width) is under the jurisdiction of North DMC. Its insignia in the form of a shield in green, red and blue has been divided into three parts. The top two parts show public waste and a monument. DELHI PUBLIC LIBRARY Delhi Public Library (DPL) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture  and governed by Delhi Library Board, fully financed by the Government of India. Delhi Public Library was started as a UNESCO project in the year 1951 by the Govt. of India. It was inaugurated by first Prime Minister of India Honourable Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, started as small unitary library in old Delhi is slocated opposite Old Delhi Railway Station. It has since developed into a premier public library system in the metropolitan city of Delhi.  DPL is functioning under the administrative control of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Its Headquarter is located in Chandni Chowk opposite Old Delhi railway station. LALIT KALA AKADEMI To promote and propagate understanding of Indian art, both within and outside the country, the Government of India established Lalit Kala Akademi (National Akademi of Arts) at New Delhi in 1954. The Akademi has regional centres called Rashtriya Lalit Kala Kendras at Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, Garhi in New Delhi and Bhubaneswar with workshop facilities in painting, sculpture, print-making and ceramics. NATIONAL GALLERY OF MODERN ART The idea of a national art gallery was first mooted in 1949. It was nurtured carefully by Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru and Maulana Azad, bureaucrats like Humayun Kabir and an active art community. Vice president Dr S. Radhakrishanan formally inaugurated the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) on March 29, 1954. The choice of Jaipur House, one of the premier edifices of Lutyens’ Delhi, signified the envisaged high profile of the institution. Designed by Sir Arthur Bloomfield, as a residence for the Maharaja of Jaipur, the butterfly-shaped building with a central dome was built in 1936. It was styled after a concept of the Central Hexagon visualised by Sir Edwin Lutyens. DELHI METRO RAIL CORPORATION The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation also called Delhi Metro is a mass rapid transit (MRT) system serving Delhi and its satellite cities of Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Bahadurgarh and Ballabhgarh in the National Capital Region of India began its commercial operation on December 25, 2002. The DMRC, was established in 1995. The network consists of 10 colour-coded lines serving 286 stations with a total length of 348.12 kilometres. DELHI POLICE Delhi has a long history of policing through the famed institution of the Kotwal. Malikul Umara Faqruddin is said to be the first Kotwal of Delhi. He became the Kotwal at the age of 40 in 1237 A.D. and was also simultaneously appointed as the Naibe-Ghibat (Regent in absence). Because of his integrity and sagacity he held the post through the reigns of three Sultans: Balban, Kaikobad and Kaikhusrau. Another Kotwal is, Malik Alaul Mulk, who was appointed by Sultan Allauddin Khilji in 1297 AD. When Emperor Shahjahan shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi, in 1648, he appointed Ghaznafar Khan as the first Kotwal of the new city, bestowing on him the office of Mir-i-Atish (Chief of Artillery).
