KARNATAK VETERINARY, ANIMAL AND FISHERIES UNIVERSITY Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) was formed as per the Karnataka Act No. 9 of 2004 called The Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries University Act 2004 and published in the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary on February 23, 2004. Eight colleges, three polytechnic colleges, one kendra, one institute of biologicals and extension centres. The emblem of the university has the map of Karnataka and several motifs connected with its domain of knowledge are placed in a circle. These are topped and bottomed by the slogan ‘Animal Wealth Nation’s Wealth’. Written in Kannada and English. This circle has a blue border with a yellow outline, which bears the name of the university and place. At the bottom on a yellow banner its motto in Kannada ‘ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಉದ್ದೇಶ’ and English 'Rural Oriented & Farmer Friendly’ are written.
