REGIONAL INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, IMPHAL  The circular seal of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal (RIMSI) has a shield housing the motifs of its acronym and the Staff of Hermes. The shield is ensconced by a white circular border with black outlines bearing its name and place. These are supported by a pair of laurels on sides and by a banner bearing the name of the State at the bottom. The Staff refers to medicine and the medical profession; the shield refers to protection, safety, heritage, authority and bravery and the laurels refer to ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

PGS-INDIA (PARTICIPATORY GUARANTEE SYSTEM OF INDIA) - GREEN The red and green emblem of PGS-India (Participatory Guarantee System of India) - Green has a pair of hands depicted as grass holding a ball of red denoting that a product is from a farm that is in the process of becoming organic and has stopped using chemicals in its cultivation and production. Below the motif its name is written in sans serif typeface. The colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

MANDYA UNIVERSITY The emblem of Mandya University (MUM) has the motif of the iconic monument of ‘Flag Satyagraha’ Shivapura Satyagraha Soudha in Maddur referring to the great freedom struggle, supported by a pair of sugarcanes representing the fertile lands of Cauvery river fed Mandya District. These are ensconced by a green circular border which is inscribed with its name in Kannada and English. A red banner is placed above the seal at the bottom on which its motto in Kannada ‘ಮನುಜಮತ ವಿಶ್ವಪಥ’ (Title of book of essays, Kuvempu) meaning ‘Humanitarian Path’ is inscribed. The colour green represents agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the colour red symbolises passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration.

MAHATMA PHULE KRISHI VIDYAPEETH

MAHATMA PHULE KRISHI VIDYAPEETH The emblem of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV) has three green leaves surmounted by its name and supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘अन्नं बहु कुर्वीत तद् व्रतम्’ (Verse 1, Chapter 9, Bhrigu Valli, Taittiriya Upanishad) meaning ‘Thou Shalt Increase and Amass Food’. These are ensconced by a red circular border created with the motifs 44 humans holding their hands, signifying unity is strength. The leaves represent the agriculture and agriculturist; the leaves denote growth and rebirth; the colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth and the red denotes passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy.

PACIFIC MEDICAL UNIVERSITY The insignia of Pacific Medical University (PMU) has a red cross with a flame atop, superimposed by a green path and surmounted by a rising sun and supported by a ‘kalash’ overwritten by a its acronym ‘PMU’ are placed over the background of ocean. All these are ensconced by a red circular border with blue outlines on which the name of the university is inscribed. PROFESSOR JAYASHANKAR TELANGANA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY The green and red circular seal of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has a gear wheel holding a map of the State of Telangana housing the motifs of spikes of cereal, a satellite dish antenna, a village house, an open book and a microscope. All these motifs symbolise agriculture and agricultural education and research in Telangana. The gear wheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure. The gear is surrounded by a white border, which bears the name of the university in Telugu and its year of establishment. This is supported by a pair of laurels meaning ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication. All these are ensconced by a red circular border on which its name is inscribed.

BIHAR AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY

BIHAR AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour was established August 5, 2010 is a basic and strategic institution supporting more than five hundred researchers and educationists towards imparting education at graduate and postgraduate levels. The emblem of the university has the motifs of a helical structure of DNA, a satellite antenna, an open book and a cow supported by a pair of laurels of wheat heads and ensconced by a gear wheel. These are surrounded by a circular border on which the name and place of the university is inscribed in English and Devanagari. The cow and antenna represent agriculture and information technology; the open book denotes education, knowledge and wisdom, the laurels denote food, prosperity, success and hard work and the gear wheel denotes interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.

SHARNBASVA UNIVERSITY

SHARNBASVA UNIVERSITY Sharnbasva University (SU) in Kalaburagi, Karnataka is the first private university to be established in the Kalyana-Karnataka region in 2017. The red and green emblem of the university images of the Sharnabasava supported by banners with slogans in Kannada above and below. Around this motif within a white border with green ring the name of the university is written in Kannada and English and at the bottom ‘Teacher and the Disciple’ is written in Kannada and English. Below the circular emblem on a gold edged banner its motto ‘ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವು ಸಾಧಕರ ಕೈಯಾಗಿದೆ’ in Kannada is written meaning ‘Education is the Hands of the Practitioner’. There are scrolls atop and below the emblem.

HEMWATI NANDAN BAHUGUNA GARHWAL UNIVERSITY Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University was established as a State University through the U.P. State Government notification dated November 23, 1973. It has a rare distinction of taking birth through a powerful popular movement during the early seventies in the last century. The university was converted to a Central University on January 15, 2009. The green circular emblem of the university has the motifs of the geography of the State - Himalayan mountain range, rivers, a tree and shining sun within a circle. All theses are ensconced in a circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘जीवा ज्योतिर्शिमहि’ meaning  ‘Life Eternal’ and supported on either side by a pair of red lotuses - denoting knowledge and purity and at the bottom half of the border its name in Devanagari is written.

YOUTH HOSTEL ASSOCIATION OF INDIA The Youth Hostel Movement had found its way into India before the partition of the country in 1947. The idea was introduced in the early forties by the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides of India, Punjab Circle, after that the first Youth Hostel was formally opened at Tara Devi near Shimla on June 9, 1945, inaugurated by Sir Bertrand Glancy, Chief Scout and Governor of the Punjab. In 1949, some enthusiasts in Mysore set up a Committee to promote the movement in India. Three years later the Indian Association received the Associate membership of the International Youth Hostel Federation. On October 5, 1970, National Youth Hostel Trust was created through a Resolution passed by the National Council of YHAI, a day earlier. Its emblem has an eccentric circle with a green border, which holds a round cornered equilateral green triangle. The eccentric circle refers to travelling and staying in a hostel. It has its anagram written in a stacked manner. The
