ASSAM TOURISM DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD The insignia Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ASTDC) has a rhinoceros standing in front of a big sun along with a bud of tea leaves above flowing waters. The rhinoceros and tea leaves represent the animal inhabitants and the famous produce of the State. This eastern State is famous for its sun rises and the mighty river of Brahmaputra and its tributaries which form parts of the pictorial. Its tagline ‘Awesome Assam’ is written in handwritten script style below the motifs. Its name ‘Assam Tourism’ is written at the bottom. The logo is informative and attractive.

DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY

DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY Dibrugarh University, the easternmost University in India, was established in 1965 consequent upon the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965, enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. Its emblem has an oil production platform with a cross section of the earth blow and the flames spewing out of the tower. It is ensconced by a circular border with red and black outlines holding the name of the university and its motto in Sanskrit ‘नियतं कुरु कर्म’ (Shloka 8, Chapter 3, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Do Thou Perform Thy Bounden Duty for Action is Superior to Inaction’ separated by a pair of tea buds. The tea buds are native to the geography and the oil production platform signifies the main local industry.

ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES GUWAHATI The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Guwahati (AIIMS Guwahati), an autonomous Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare - Government of India, was established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) in May 2017. The emblem of AIIMS Guwahati is a three layered circular one with motifs in the centre. The outer layer acts as a banner carrying its name in Devanagari and English, supported by a pair of one horned rhinoceros. It represents the great one horned rhinoceros found in the forests of Assam, it is also listed as one of the vulnerable species. It symbolises strength and courage to keep moving ahead in spite of all obstacles. TEA BOARD

TEA BOARD The Tea Board was constituted as a Statutory Body on April 1, 1954 under Section (4) of the Tea Act, 1953. The Board is headed by a chairman with head office at Kolkata. As an apex body for the tea industry in India, the Board has two zonal offices at Guwahati and Coonoor and 13 regional offices spread over different parts of India, one research centre at Kurseong (Darjeeling) and three foreign offices in London, Moscow and Dubai. The primary functions of the Board include rendering financial and technical assistance for cultivation, manufacture, marketing of tea; promoting tea exports; aiding research and developmental activities for augmentation of tea production and improvement of tea quality; encouraging and assisting the unorganized small growers sector financially and technically and collecting and maintaining statistical data and its publication for the benefit of growers, processors and exporters. Its logo has in dark green centre with tea buds in black and whi
