MAHARISHI VALMIKI SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY The emblem of Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University (MVSU) has a Dakshinavarti Shankh (conch) on a purple circular background. The conch is supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘पावका नः सरस्वती’ (Rig Veda 1.3.10) meaning ‘Sarasvatī, the Purifier’ and circumscribed by its name, place and its status. THese are ensconced by a red circular border on which a glowing sun is placed. The Dakshinavarti Shankh the presence of the Goddess Lakshmi and is said to represent the auspiciousness of the universe; the sun refers to the refers to the life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the colour purple symbolises royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition.

COOCH BEHAR PANCHANAN BARMA UNIVERSITY The emblem of the Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University (CBPBU) has a blue circular panel holding the motifs of an open book supporting a conch or Shankh. Below this four cyan colour swooshes holds the name of the university in black. These four strokes represent the rivers of Teesta, Jaldhaka, Jorda, Kaljani, Raidak, Gadadhar and Ghargharia, which flow in Cooch Behar. The open book symbolises knowledge, education and wisdom; the conch or Shankh  which is a sacred object in Hinduism and Buddhism and it is a symbol of Vishnu, the God of Preservation and the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
