SRI JAGADHGURU MURUGARAJENDRA UNIVERSITY Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra University (SJMU) came into existence from June 13, 2022. The logo of the university has a grey coloured oval shape bearing the acronym of the university’s name in blue colour is gently held by an orange palm. Below these the motto of the university ‘Enlightenment is a Precious Ornament’ is written. Oval shape represents uniqueness and individuality, as well as pushing boundaries while still respecting and honouring tradition. Because the oval is the shape of an egg, this shape also symbolises fertility, rebirth and family. The supporting palm is associated with truth, honesty and openness. The colour orange signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
