NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY CALICUT Set in a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Western Ghats, National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is located about 22 kilometres north-east of Calicut City. NITC is a Technical Institution of national importance set up by an Act of parliament (Act 29 of 2007). NITC’s emblem has a sixteen toothed gear wheel in which a traditional lamp from Kerala is placed around which three orbital lines of particles are drawn. The name and place of the institute is written on the border of the gear wheel. At the bottom, on a banner its motto ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ is written in Sanskrit meaning ‘From Darkness to Light’.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONICS AND  INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY   National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) is an autonomous body of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The Centre is a premier organisation for education, training, R&D and consultancy in IT and electronics. The history of NIELIT dates back to 1974 when the Department of Electronics (DoE) now Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEIT), Government of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC) set up the first CEDT within the premises of Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Bangalore with assistance from Swiss Development Corporation. The objective was to bridge the gap between the academic institutions and industries.
