AWADHESH PRATAP SINGH UNIVERSITY Awadhesh Pratap Singh University (APSU) was established on July 20, 1968 as a State university of Madhya Pradesh. The university has been named after the freedom fighter Capt. Awadhesh Pratap Singh, the first Prime Minister of Vindhya Pradesh. It was recognized by the UGC in February 1972. The emblem of the university has a traditional lamp with a halo and with rays glowing  supported by an open book placed on a small table bearing its Sanskrit motto ‘तेजस्विनावधीतमस्तु’ (Ved Vyasa, Kata Upanishad) meaning ‘May the Study of Both of us be Brilliant’. These are ensconced by a yellow border which has the name and place of the university inscribed in Devanagari. The traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity and the open book symbolises education, knowledge and wisdom.  

RANCHI UNIVERSITY

RANCHI UNIVERSITY Ranchi University came into existence on July 12, 1960 as an autonomous institution as it was carved out of erstwhile Bihar University. It underwent tetra-furcation with creation of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag (1992), Nilambar Pitambar University, Medini Nagar (2009), Kolhan University, Chaibasa (2009) and Dr Shyama Prasad Mukharjee University, Ranchi (2019). The emblem of the university has an open book, which carries the motifs of mountains and river; laboratory equipment for physics; a hand holding a ring and forest of trees on its pages. These are ensconced in a blue circle. This are circumscribed by its name in Devanagari, a pair of laurels and its motto in Sanskrit ‘तेजस्वि नावधीतमस्तु’ (Shanti Mantra, Taittriya Upanishad) meaning ‘May the Study of Both of us be Brilliant’. VEER BAHADUR SINGH PURVANCHAL UNIVERSITY Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, commonly known as VBSPU, is a State university located in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1987 and is named after the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Veer Bahadur Singh. The predominantly pink and yellow circular emblem of the university holds the motifs of a water with lotus in the middle supported by a pair of fish, year of establishment (1987) and crested by rising sun in Orange. The circular pink border with yellow outline bears its motto and its name in Devanagri separated by a pair of twigs. The Sanskrit motto ‘तेजस्विनावधितमस्तु’ (Shanti Mantra, Taittriya Upanishad) meaning ‘May the Study of Both of us be Brilliant’.
